HERE WE GO AGAIN.................

Sun Mar 03, 2013 8:41 pm

Well, Newmans patented "bad luck" has surfaced early this new racing season at Phoenix. I think they gave him the 40TH finish. So, he's no longer in the top 5 or 10. I know, it's early! :?

I could tell in his practices his team was struggling for balance.

Glad to see Carl get off the snide and get a win. With these Gen 6 cars, anyone can win! ;)

I guess we can no longer say Newman is good "at any track" with his new race team and car! :D

What's your feelings if any.................

I guess NASCAR didn't bother to see what would happen with the tires and brakes on these cars. Looks like short track racing, which Ryan is very good at, will come down to who can drive without over heating the brake rotors.

IMO I just think that they really rushed this car out without a lot of thought past Daytona.

Hey home girl! You are the first person from Ohio other than me since I have been a Ryan Newman fan since 2002! I'm astonished! I posted on Ryan's official site from 2002 till 2008 but had to get away from it. Way to many mean people and cliques. :?

Ryan has got to be the most patient man on this earth! His racing luck is so legendary bad but yet he keeps "his chin up" regardless. I don't know how he does it seriously. I think he has become so use to it after all these years! He's getting paid but I would still be asking myself,"Why me?"

It had to do with the set up, not the bead on the tire. At least that's what I heard. They said it couldn't be fixed there. I'd say his patience was at an end when he got out of the car and walked. This is going to be a learning process for most teams, and he and Borland haven't been back together that long.

Hey Rochelle! Glad your posting today. I have tried to build this little site up with no apparent luck. I guess Newman fans must figure, why talk about misery from week to week! :D

Like you said. So much to learn with these new Gen. 6 cars. I just figured Matt and Ryan would have a slight edge but it doesn't matter if your blowing tires!

probably the first truly 'bad' race for Ryan (other than the Duel) since re-joining back with Borland. Saw some of the same troubling things we would see with Gibson...falling back early, falling back more in the pits, and a car that just never had anything. Weird because Ryan was around 10th in the early practices and then qualifying. Agreed that is too early to tell anything yet.

I just hated to hear them compare Danica with Ryan and that they had some of the same issues. The car wasn't right for sure, but it just seems more can be done with some of the other HMS guys running so well, Tony was decent also but not great.

Ryan wasnt doing as bad as it looked.
he started off free, but didnt pit on the 1st pit stop. After a cycle on those tires his car got tight. Which is where he dropped back. After they were mired midpack Borland told him they were just gonna keep it with fuel & use stratergy later to get him back up front. So he kept pitting after that which would put him back into the mid pack again. During the restarts he would pass people, even on the outside. His car was still tight, but much better according to him & he & Borland had a plan, to gain positions back. He just blew his tire out, before they could put the plan in play. tight conditions help to have a right front blowout, but I believe there was something in the setup excelerating the blow out. What I dont know, but camber or something. Danica often uses Ryans set ups as a base & she had a blow out as well. So yeah Ryans car wasnt handling early, but they were close at the time of the blow out. After that he was simply driving a car with the tow out, & sway bar disconnected. So the 2nd wreck wasnt all that surprising. But if he didnt lose the right front, I think he would have been top ten at the end. So dont get to depressed on how he was running, before the wreck. it wasnt as bad as it looked.

Not bad luck. SHR didn't get the short/flat track set-up quite right. The drivers running well did not blow tires or melt beads. Just sayin'.

Tony doesn't like Ryan's set-up and vice versa and yes Danica likes Ryan's set-ups, so I understand her blowing a tire. This is only the 2nd race on the car so having those issues is not surprising to me. They'll all learn and move forward. I'd rather they get the learning curve out of the way now in the beginning of the season and build up those notebooks.

Tell me about it! I should be use to that after all these years but it still ticks me off!

CONSISTENCY should be "brain washed" into every team member of Team #39!
