POST MIAMI! KESELOWSKI WINS,JOHNSON LOOSES!

It's about time former Ohio native Roger Penske wins his very first Nascar Championship! Congratulations Roger! :D The old billionaire finally gets one! As well, congrats to Brad! :D

Congrats to Matt Borland and Team #39 for a their place finish! Momentum is everything although we are talking about a new car next year. Don't worry, Matt will be on it this off season. He has that Chad K. mentality of searching high and low for an edge! ;)

As we all know, Rusty Wallace drove that old #2 car for many years but NO Championship wins. We also know our favorite driver Ryan Newman was given his Nascar start by driving for Don Miller/Roger Penske in the #27-A/#02-ABC/#12-C

Johnson will have to wait till next year to try for his 6TH Championship in the new Nascar approved race cars. 8-)

Also, looking for good things from our favorite race team #39 in 2013........... ;)

Your thoughts if any?

Re: POST MIAMI! KESELOWSKI WINS,JOHNSON LOOSES!

last two races end in top 5's.

Could this be what we have to look forward too next year?

Car didnt have any speed in it, until after they got into a long run, so with plenty of room for improvement on the race cars they are getting top 5's anyways.
Gives us some hope for next season finally.

No comparison between Gibson and Borland. Borland clearly a better CC! :D

I have never doubted Ryan as a driver. It has always been his bad racing luck and support team.....always! :D

Things are looking brighter for Ryan and i hope this gets even better for next season and we're pulling for him to win the championship.
Harvick and RCR proved last weekend was a fluke! Hope Kevin doesn't have to struggle as long as Ryan has at SHR come 2014.
I'm impressed as usual with Brad, championship or not, and it did get interesting till JJs' mechanical issues. Honestly have to admit i felt bad for JJ because it was something out of his control.
I'm not big on what if's,but has anyone done the math yet to see how close Clint would have been if it weren't for last week with Jeff? ;)
Harvick may as well bring the #29 with him,he's bringing all the sponsors!

he lost 23 points at phoenix when Jeff lost his mind. He would have finished 5th & instead finished 28th.
He lost the title by 39 points, so even if Jeff didnt take him out Brad still would have won the title.

Borland is the man. Noticed they mimicked the 48 again to a degree (which I feel is a great strategy), staying out as long as they did in one of the earlier green runs, coming back in under yellow after a short run when a number of leaders stayed out, all worked perfect. And the car seemed to get better again throughout the race. Hopefully these are the kind of things that will happen next season.

I guess, congrats to Malikai. I have a hard time getting past BK's douchie-ness, but he was indeed the most consistent this year, though JJ seemed to be a touch stronger, for once bad luck killed him in the chase. Kind of sick of hearing about BK and being the first to win for Roger - I still think Rusty and Ryan, and even Kurt were better but the team just couldn't get it together for a whole season. I've never seen a Penske car with that kind of speed nearly every race, with so little mechanical issues, as well as pit road performance.

Re: POST MIAMI! KESELOWSKI WINS,JOHNSON LOOSES!

Penske in 1993 with Pontiac,Rusty won ten races i believe to Dales eight, but Rusty finished the season second in points.
Brad may not be the greatest at public speaking, but he's for real when he's behind the wheel and i'm wondering now if HMS wishes they took on Brad over Jr. ;)
Rusty and Ryan had the speed, not the luck,Kurt is just an idiot who lost his way.

$HIT....I'd even be willing to wager that Mr H is kicking himself in the a$$ for lettin' go of KB in light of a couple of shortcomings that I feel have since been addressed. He's superior to JOOOOOOONYER on ANY given day in ANY form of racing.....Imagine the new and improved KB in a HMS chevy, kinda scary if ya ask me.

I like BK's bluntness,You don't have to be a great public speaker, all you gotta do is show enough TRUE emotion and conviction in your interviews that eventually people overlook your speaking skills.
That gives you an advantage that others don't enjoy. L@@k at JOOOOOOOONYER, You'd get a better interview from a sponge, BUUUUUUT, people hang on his every word.

Ryan had to endure a lot of "change" in his tenure with Penske from 2000-2008. Roger was using Ford when Ryan started from 2000-2002. Then he switched to Dodge in 2003 and was fabricating the Dodge Intrepid from 2003-2004. Very obviously, 2003 was Ryan's most successful year to date! From 2005-2008 they fabricated the Dodge Charger that most race teams had a heck of a time getting good aero numbers due to that pitched front end for a couple years. I remember Matt Borland tried everything under the sun with several different Dodge Charger nose pieces desperately trying to make Newman competitive. Then Nascar let the Dodge teams switch those nose pieces till they finally settled on an officially approved nose for all Dodge teams in 2007. Newman and his race team had to deal with a lot of changes....more so than any other driver at that time! Not including all the Nascar rule changes/tire changes/crew chief changes and the race tracks making their changes. Not making any excuses for Ryan, those are the facts! ;)

Re: POST MIAMI! KESELOWSKI WINS,JOHNSON LOOSES!

Yeah, the 1993 season may have been the best ever with Penske back with Rusty and the MGD car, it seems like when they switched to Miller Lite they were never the same. But the mid 90s is when everything started changing, HMS, Roush and others really started spending big time money and expanding, you would think Roger would have thrived in this environment but for the longest time he tried to be cheap and keep things small with his Nascar deal ("Penske Racing South") as he had a number of other ventures going on. This started the downfall of RCR and Dale Sr. as well as they could not keep up with the money of Hendrick.

Even through the early 2000s Penske was still trying to keep things small with Nascar and I think is a good reason they started to fall so far behind, along with that crap Dodge they had.

Only in recent years Penske woke up, building up a huge shop in Charlotte and moving all their racing teams there, ending his ALMS/Rolex program and ramping up a full-time Nationwide program instead, and they seemed to finally figure out you need a boatload of engineers and full-time people dedicated to Nascar, not that it should be this way, but again HMS forced this issue...
