That's just it. You have to have your chassis set up with some wiggle room for adjustments that can be made during the race as you know. Gibson would have his chassis maxed out with no where to go. They were bad off the hauler!Schmoopy1000 wrote:When it came to the pit crew. They didnt lose a single position to anyone on the same pit type. (2 tires or 4 tires) Now I chalk that up to them having a good day. Cant see how Borland would make them better in a week, but this is how they were last week.
As far as Ryans car. All the adjustments they made never made the car better. It confused them for half the race, how the adjustments werent doing anything at all. In fact moving the trac bar actually made it worse, so during the green flag stop they dropped it back down & added a rubber, which helped the car from rolling over. They never could fix the tight condition though & Ryan thinks he figured out what was going on over half way through the race. THe told Borland that they couldnt fix it on pit road but believed the camber was wrong. Borland went over everything that they were doing & all the symptoms, then told Ryan, yeah that makes sense. Ryan asked what tony was doing & Tony had the same problems.
The thing that got me excited though was the ton & I mean ton of talking they were doing back in forth the whole race about the car. Even when Ryan was doing his list of adjustemnts he thought Borland also had his own ideas. Borland never said I dont know or we are trying or Im sorry. They definitely seemed like they were on the same page & both were thinking (a lot) about the car.
One other thing. Ryan at one point was 2 laps down in 29th position. That used to be a death sentence to this team as far as ever seeing the lead lap again. Ryan finished p11. Borland is capable of adjusting his game plan on the fly as well, which I was relieved to hear.
I dont expect miracles out of the 39 team with this change. Teams dont just turn it around in a week, but the communication was awesome to listen too for once. Just to bad they couldnt fix whaat was wrong with the car in the race. They would have had to go behind the wall.
Like I said before. I am fine with Ryan struggling the rest of this season if it means getting things going back in the right direction, for next year.

i dont expect much from ryan for the rest of the year, look at it as them two getting to know each other again.

I think Ryan's had enough on 2012!Annalee wrote:8Ballin wrote: If the camber was off on both cars, then this would seem to indicate they are NOT getting setup information in that detail from HMS, or we wouldn't have seen HMS cars all running top 5 like they did for a bit.
Thank you for the post..........I think HMS has some explaining to do.......none of their cars were having any problems and ran up front at least in the top 10 for most of the race! SHR during most of the race were 1-2 laps down......something is wrong with this picture.....
