Now Grasping for any chance

I seriously dont think this 39 team is capable of winning either of the next two races, which is what would be ideal.
So in my attempt to convince myself of some kind of chance for the 39 team, I turn to the 5 team.
If Kasey gets a 5th place finish (& say leads a lap) which isnt out of the realm of posssiblities at atlanta. he is good there, & Harvick drops out early. Harvick is 37 pts ahead of Kahne. That would bring them to richmond basically just needing to beat the 29 team & Kahne would be in the top ten & Harvick out of the top ten with zero wins. Then it is just a matter of which two drivers of the three to out point the other between Kyle, Gordon, & Ryan.

BTW I think Kyle is in now. Dont think Ryan or Gordon will catch him in points. So unless one of these guys get a victory or Carl gets one Kyle is in.
Without DNFs I think who we see now in the chase is who will be in the chase when it starts.
Right now I am hoping for an early exit by Harvick & Kahne to be on a tear. I think that is Ryans best chance.

Re: Now Grasping for any chance

Well--its Nascar so anything can happen and usually does, but realistically Ryan is a long shot given all that has to happen now for him to make a wild card. Ryan fans should just hope he gets full sponsorship for next yr, unless making or not making the chase may affect that. Nascar is about all things, money to fund the team from sponsors, a good driver, a good car, a good crew and a CC calling the right shots and if one of those misfire--it can ruin things for that team. The REAL wild card is-- they have to have good luck on their side not to be caught in a wreck, mechanical issues or driver error that ruins it all, or its all for nothing anyway. Its Nascar and if you dont like it--dont watch, as I find myself switching channels alot as the races are far too long for me so stare at the tv for hrs watching one race. Bristol was actually pretty good and I watched mostly the entire races, course I watch all the races Danica is in for sure, but they were both decent races I thought for a change.

My Motto--Dont expect too much and you wont be so dissapointed. 8-)
