Who says you can't go home?

Remember how Jamie Mac drove for EGR when he first started in the Cup series? Then he left there to drive for RFR? Then he left there to rejoin EGR? He actually ended up having the most success of his career?

The Dinger is also a free agent at the end of this season as well. It is not known yet if he will return to the 22 car. I myself personally would like to see Ryan go back to Penske. That would be awesome!!!! I think both those cars and teams have great potential. It would also be awesome because then Ryan and my new second fav driver Brad Keselowski would be team mates kickin #### and taking names. Not sure if Ryan would go back, or if Penske would have him back but a man can dream.

#### to be honest at this point I'd rather see him in the James Finch 51 car than in the 39. I am sick of this team. I am sick of this crew chief. I am sick of the so called "BOSS" not doing anything to fix the issues on the 39. This team is pathetic
"He makes me look thinner" Tony on why he picked Ryan to be his team mate. bet he's gonna enjoy his fair share of Krissie's cookies every weekend lol

Re: Who says you can't go home?

well I could think it might be an option, except if I remember right, Penske & Ryan didnt split on very good terms.
Ryan called out Penske's Equipment & Roger was happy to see Ryan go. So not to sure the going back home applies here. Although stranger things have happened.
Also someone on this site said Ryan & one of the head honchos for Penske hated each other. So if true, another small set back to the going back home theory.
However I am with you, where I am starting to feel like, I would rather Ryan go to the single team of Phoenix instead of being suffering on this particular #39 team. man it gets painful watching this team. I am sure many Tony fans wouldnt mind Ryan & Kurt switch LOL.

Re: Who says you can't go home?

I'm not sure about Ryan's split from Penske. Both Roger and Ryan claimed it was a friendly split. It was that fuktard Rusty Wallace (who for whatever reason always had a problem with Ryan) who said it was a nasty split. Even after Rusty made these claims both Roger and Ryan denied them.

I think with both Ryan and Brad in his stable Roger would have two potential shots at a title.

Ryan has not had a top 10 finish since he lucked into the win at Martinsville. His best finish has been a 12th at Pocono. Every week he qualifies well and runs pretty decent for the first run. Week after week his chances of a good finish end with the first pitstop. At MIS Ryan had one of the cars to beat starting 43rd due to an engine change. He rocketed through the pack driving all the way up into the top 15, but again that run was over first time Tubby and that lame #### crew touched the car. I'm sick of watching these struggles. Thats why I have jumped to the Brad Keselowski bandwagon. There is no excitement watching Ryan run mid pack, however the chances Brad will finish well or even get a win are pretty good.

Re: Who says you can't go home?

One thing to keep in mind is that Penske will not be in Dodge next year. Roger has decided to go back to Ford. Now Ryan had one of his best seasons in Ford, but that was the old car not the COT. I think when Penske switched to Dodge their R & D was severely lacking, hence Ryan & Kurt's poor showings. I would hope Roger learned his lesson & is working with Ford on next years cars. But I heard in an interview with BK that Penske is keeping the Dodge engine program for next season so anyone running Dodge would have a Penske engine?? Not sure on that though.

I think that Ryan & Roger's split was not as amicable as they wanted everyone to believe. I remember there being something Ryan said that really po'd Roger. I guess I for one would not want Ryan to go back to Penske next season, let them have a year with Ford & see how competitive they are first. JMO

Re: Who says you can't go home?

his season is done, even if he makes the chase, SHR treated that team like it was 2nd class and those were the results they got, if you are surrounded by sub-par personal those are the results that will be achieved. tony gibson has no reason to be a CC and there are some here who say "ryan wants him as CC." well guess what they have no idea, just as we have no idea why tony sold out darrian grubb, sorry tony fans that what he did, sold him down the river, next year all the attention will go to "Crash" Patrick, she is a novelty, soon in time SHR will see the only thing she brings in is money from diecast, ryan's time is done at SHR, the writing is on the wall, hopefully he can find a team that will show him the attention and surround him with the people he deserves.

Re: Who says you can't go home?

Well given current situations in the NASCAR world my wish could come true MAYBE............

The U.S. ARMY has decided to leave NASCAR. I guess it was just a matter of time before that happened anyway. Every year they have cut their number of races in half thanks to this congress man. With no ARMY sponcership for Ryan that leaves a big hole at SHR. So unless one of Ryan's current sponcers steps up and becomes a primary and takes more races or SHR can attract new sponcership in an economy where sponsership is hard to come by, then chances are Ryan will be forced to go elsewhere.

There are not really any quality seats open as things stand now, and three top drivers looking for new rides. The #1 free agent Matt Kenseth has already found a ride either with JGR or the rumored Andretti team that could be coming to NASCAR. Either way that is one less seat for Ryan to move into. So after Matt I'm not sure who would be considered the #1 free agent Ryan or Kurt. I would say Ryan since Kurt is an ####, but Kurt is a former champ so that could propel him to #1 despite his attitude.

Depending on how things work out with this whole Dinger drug test thing, the 22 may be an open seat. I don't believe for a second that A.J. is a druggy, but then I didn't think Mayfield was either and we all know how that turned out. Pass or Fail it is not known if A.J. will return next year. He has not been happy with the way things are going for him at Penske (not sure why, he has qualified well, ran well, but finishes don't reflect the way he has run) Now if A.J. does go that leaves another seat, and a limited number of drivers to fill it. Both Ryan and Kurt have already driven for Roger Penske and I would have to say (even if the split with Ryan was not a friendly one) after what Kurt did Ryan would be the better pick for Roger to fill the 22 seat. Only problem I can find in this theory is that Roger has a hard on for Sam Hornish Jr. and could move him back up from the NW series to pilot the 22 full time. Of course it is no Known what will happen to A.J. so this whole thing is wishfull hoping and speculation.

The thing that bothers me the most about all this is the fact there are no rides, no sponsorship, and a few drivers looking to move on much like last years silly season. I have a really bad feeling that Ryan could end up being this years Elliot Sadler (left without a cup ride and forced to go to the NW series), or even worse this years Brian Vickers (left with no ride at all in any series)

Re: Who says you can't go home?

Well if you want to believe the tweeting world.
Krissie has said on tweetville, that the Kurt to SHR thing was just a rumor. Then again if a submarining was coming, the Newman family would be the last to know.

SHR said in tweetville, that there is only one driver they are attempting to negotiate with for 2013 & beyond, one driver only, & his name is Ryan Newman!

So if you want to believe the tweeting world, it looks like it will be Ryan at SHR (probably without full sponsorship) but what is new. (excluding any submarining)

Tell the truth, you just like Brad cuz he's the most exciting, talented up and coming driver we have right now. ;) Ok,that's why i do.    Don't believe we'll ever see Ryan at Penske again, unfortunately Roger seems to have it in his head Sam has to be there sponsor needed? Will agree,Rusty didn't like team mates anymore than Dale Snr.did with Skinner, could be better for Ryan there now and all parties concerned.
Harvick may as well bring the #29 with him,he's bringing all the sponsors!
#2 #29 #39
