NASCAR GOING TO SONOMA CALIFORNIA!

I'm sure all the merchandisers had a record week of Dale Junior sales! I have nothing against Dale Junior but was never a fan of him. He fits that southern hip young Nascar driver mold!

Nascar.coms "Fantasy Showdown" has Mike saying,"Ryan Newman is my pick for a dud" as far as Sonoma. WOW! No love there!

Nascar heads out to Sonoma California. The home state of the Nascar California drivers invasion by Jimmie Johnson/Jeff Gordon/Robby Gordon/Casey Mears/Kevin Harvick/A J Allmendinger/Scott Riggs/David Gilliland and a few others. This is a road course race requiring a lot more skill than going around in circles. It does add a little excitement to the Nascar tour as far as adding a little variety.

Our beloved Nascar driver Ryan Newman has never finished any better than 2ND his entire Nascar career to date! Since 2009 Newman has Starts of: 7/13/5......Finishes Of:17/16/25. Team #39 will have their hands full this race. They will need to be "on their game" in order for Newman to even get a "whiff" of the top 5-10! And I use that term "on their game" very loosely knowing this race team!

Newman will be sporting a different paint scheme as seen in the picture below!

Set back and enjoy the race. You never know? Team #39 may surprise us.

Practices will be Friday at 3:00PM(ET) then again at 12:30PM(ET)&1:45PM(ET) Saturday
Qualifying Friday at 6:40PM(ET)
RACE:Sunday 3:00PM(ET) on TNT.

Don't mean to be hard on Ryan. Just keeping it real as possible! Only he and his team can make me a believer!

this is what happens when people pay more attention to the stats than actual racing. Ryan is usually in the top ten at the RCs, before being taken out by an over zealous Colombian (or whoever) in the hairpin. He races sonoma well. Just like the Plate tracks, trouble usually finds him is all.

I actually like sonoma, & this is another track where even though handling matters, the driver can make up for some of the CC's incompetence. (how's that for positive thinking annalee?)

I really like the color of Ryan's car for this week-end. As for likeing the track it's okay but I like Watkins Glen better.

Calling Sonoma ( or SEARS POINT RACEWAY ) a road course, is a small mistake in words by NASCAR. LOL

Sonoma is an Indy, Indy, Indy track and NASCAR on it always seem a little foolish / silly to me.

I don't mind watching it on TV, but to be there and watch is painful... LOL 5 seconds of WOW, followed by 15 minutes of waiting for the WOW to come back. I haven't been back in years... so I don't know if they put a jumbo screen up for fans yet. Anyone know?

Why isn't Danica racing on this track? LOL She'd tear up the boys here! LOL

The Ryan Newman family is super low on here. Not sure why? He isn't going to win every race or get consistent top 5-10'S. He can't even get a pole like the old days! You pretty much know what you got with Team #39 from week to week.

I figure, why take it all so seriously. It will make you crazy!

Newman can wheel with the very best of them. His only problem is his weakest link and that currently is his race team. Will they get better? I would hope so.........

For the last two weeks, California has been a frying pan with temps in the 90's & 100's, just about everywhere and not a lick of rain in sight.

Enter a scheduled NASCAR race ... and enter the clouds.

Possibility of light rain in Sonoma area, over the weekend. Slight... but there, none the less.

Mother Nature... are you just toying with me, like a cat does, with a mouse? ?

Because this is just MEAN! LOL

Last week you rained on someone's parade while we were sunny, hot & clear! Now that the race is here, you make it suddenly rain on that particular weekend? ?

I guess the 2 sayings are true.

1) If you want or need rain... schedule a NASCAR race

2) God or Mother Nature is NOT a NASCAR fan.

Smokie 14, I lived in Vallejo, that is just the morning fog! Heavy dew, usually burns off about Noon.....nice thing it keeps the temps down. But then again you are right, schedule a race and for sure it will rain.. Are you going to the race?
