Well, Ryan Newman finished 15TH(1 lap down). Not sure what to say?

I should of seen this coming when Newman had to start in the rear with an engine change. That's generally a negative omen unless your Jimmie Johnson!

Great win for Nascar's favorite driver Dale Junior! He could probably run for President after this long awaited win.

Stewart as always with a better finish than Newman. That's getting real old.........

Can't wait to read all the post interviews. Team #39 was "battle tough" as they finished 15TH(1 lap down)!

actually he got p15 menard blew an engine & Ryan passed him at the entrance to pitroad coming to the flag.

my jedi master skills were on fire today, i predicted he finish 17th, because thats is what i feel the team he has backing him is... mid pack team. they were doin great til it was time to make changes, but whatever, they are content, so no reason to talk bout it.

I know Newman must not be content with finishing just in the top 15. But he has been able to keep out of trouble. He is only two points behind Kyle Busch. If he can get ahead of him than he is the 1st wildcard. Logano and Kahne lost a lot of points on him today. Really if Newman keeps doing what he is doing he is going to make the chase just fine. Then it is anyone's game.

I can appreciate your optimism Smokeshow! Most of us are raised or told to be positive about everything in this life. I guess we function much better that way.

Watching this mid pack race team week to week makes me wonder just how good they will be even IF they would be in the Chase?

It never ceases to amaze me how few race teams can actually keep a race car balanced with all the technology and race knowledge. When the elite teams are struggling. You know your mediocre race team is in big trouble!

Okay, here's my new theory! Ryan is using Tony's strategy from the chase last year, "we are not good enough ", then goes and "Smokes" the field.......wins the Championship! gets a new crew chief! I mean who knows! If Jr can win a race, anything is possible! That's my new theory and I am sticking to it.

You should see the newspapers here!!! You would have thought " Jr balanced the budget and found a cure for Common cold." I am telling you if he wins two in a row they will probably change the name of our state.

Now this state also had another native son winner in the US open yesterday with Webb Simpson. Born in Raleigh, graduated from Wake Forest on full scholarship and won his first major title in Golf, $1.4 million purse. He had much smaller print on the bottom followed on the third page. WTG Webb!!

after the last practice, ryan seemed in good spirits, thought the tire was good and even seemed happy about the engine change, and that first run proved it, he was up to 19th ( that i remember ) he was hauling, but as soon as you add the the pit crew to the mix, its 2 steps backwards, and this isnt a dig at shr, tony, its just the FACTS, they suck! even when they interviewed the tuna he sounded so indecisive

I know what you mean about Junior. The President may announce one day this month as "Dale Junior Day" here in America! Nascar's favorite driver(not the best)has to win one once in a while or else Nascar starts getting nervous. Junior could be 39TH 4 laps down in a race and the media will still give him praise! I understand it all honestly........ Nascar is basically home entertainment. Going to a race is very exspensive!

When ever I talk about Ryan or his race team it's NEVER directed at Tony or Gene directly. It's simply just one mans opinion! Tony Stewart is fiery and gutsy......I have always liked the man and his character! I wish he would rub off on Newman a little!

If you follow Newman through practice and quals. You can get a pretty good idea how good he will perform in that particular race. If he finishes 15TH fastest in "happy hour." You can bet that's just about how he will finish one way or the other! If he qualifies 3RD.......very doubtful he will finish that unless UFO'S are admitted by our government! (LOL)

Yes I agree the owners can invoke change to Ryan's race team but when I see they aren't doing anything. I must assume(to them) all is alright! They must be satisfied with the race teams results at which point I would call for a mandatory "drug testing" be given to EVERYONE!

if this was year one of the 39 team, i wouldnt be bumming, but this is what year 4? i havent heard of many changes, only time i knew of a crew change was in 10' when chad asked tony for the back up tire changer, i never hear nothing about the 39, are the powers to be content? do look at how other member say it might be ryan's call who stays or goes? i guess we will never get the full answer, even if ryan left SHR, i doubt he would say anything, because that is not in his nature, i dont think he talked bad about penske, and if there is a change one never knows he could go back to penske in 22 since they are going to fords plus AJ isnt doin that hot, and he is under a one year contract.

People are asking Ryan on facebook about him possibly leaving S/H?(as if Ryan even looks at that site) If he EVER wants to claim a Nascar Championship he may need to find a better situation! Other wise.........SOS!

It's all conjecture and speculation on our part as far as any answers to Newman's woes. I'm sure us fans will be the very last to know!

all we can do is guess, sometimes it is fun, other times its like hitting your head on the wall, i think ryan is happy at SHR, you can go by that old sayin if he was thinking on leaving " the grass APPEARS greener on the other side, just not much out there for decent rides, in watching ryan's interview yesterday, he is a perfect representative for the army, so i really hope they can keep that going and the morons in congress get distracted and leave sponsorship alone for all motorsports, the men and women need to have that distraction even if they are thousands of miles from home, need that connection.

Ryan won a race already this season,like every season,but four years is aloooooong freakin time Jr. and i still say Ryan would be perfect in the #20 car! Ryan and Harvick i don't understand,how can you be happy when you're never a serious contender for a championship? The verdict is still out on Jr.,it was only one race and we all know they cheated.
