Ryan Newman Searching For New Ride?

News came out today that high profile driver,and former Daytona 500 champion Ryan Newman, has been informed that unless sponsor is found for his #39 Chevy his tour with Stewart-Haas Racing may conclude at the end of this season.

“We’re still trying to get sponsorship. We’ve never had a year where we had all Ryan’s races sold yet”, Tony Stewart explained to media when asked of the Newman situation.
Stewart, who is co-owner of SHR, also went on to say that they were still working on getting Ryan Newman sponsorship and that Tony would love to have Ryan back next year….sponsorship pending.



May, which is typically known to race fans as the beginning of “Silly Season“, is always the time of year where rumors of the next big profile move is leaked to the media and race fanatics work feverishly to guess where their driver may soon land for next seasons ride. This one seems to come at a surprise considering the amount of sucsess both drivers have achieved since the remodeling of the organization formally known as Haas CNC RACING, winning 16 races and last years Sprint Cup Championship, with Stewart and Newman behind the wheel of the Hendrick horsepowered Chevy’s.


With this news, “Silly Season” seems to be in full bloom. “Silly Season” is NASCAR’s version of free agency. Most of the time in NASCAR, “Silly Season” comes down to a complicated game of musical chairs. The driver that’s last to find a chair, usually is the driver without a seat for the seasons beginning race, The Daytona 500.

the stories are starting to show up more and more, i could see him going to gibbs, and danica taking over ryans spot at SHR, be nice if he stays.

If he had a good crew and a good crew chief, he'd win more races. That in itself would make sponsorship a cake-walk. Until they address the crew/crewchief situation with GENUINE concern, mediocrity will be the norm and finding sponsors will be tough. I hate it, Tony and Ryan seem to be a good combination that with some tweaks to a couple of different areas could approach hard to beat.

well MW, i always kid around and say TG is blackmailing Tony to keep his job, unless he is a real super genius at the shop, but i doubt it, as many have talked about, ryan is loyal even to the point it hurts him, i have a feeling SHR wont lose these sponsors, because they want to be associated with a champion and Tony bein the recent champ certainly does not hurt, i just dont get it, it makes my pea brain smoke......

We as Ryan fans CAN do something about this.

We can write to all previous sponsors and ask ( beg ? LOL ) that they come back. Show the sponsors some appreciation... and maybe it can turn a head or two? ?

Write to Tony's sponsors and ask them to help Ryan?
Write to big & small business's and ask them?
What kind of sponsors would be up Ryan's alley? Hunting & fishing, animals, restoring old barns... farmers & products... what else?


OK Ryan Fans... besides The Army, Quicken Loans, Outback... who else?


We don't have to sit back and wait for the news to come to us...
we CAN have a small part in trying to keep this together, however.

I believe if we put forth a concerted effort, we are a power to be reckoned with.

I'm not gonna write letters to sponsors...SHR has people assigned to do that line of work, as does Ryan....but if you'd like, I need a sponsor (and not a court appointed one either, one that gives me money)

I hope these articles are just " filler", cause I don't want him to go! I love Ryan and his beautiful family! This maybe a way to get sponsors to commit. At least I hope so! Don't know about the authors of these articles. Hope they are so so wrong!

I don't like the sounds of this. That's what owners tell their drivers before they get their walking papers.

Kenseth doesn't have sponsorship, but Roush is still trying to resign him. I wish Tony would do the same.

As for writing to the sponsors. Not my job. Its up to the marketing people at SHR.

If I were the sponsorship procurement director, i'd be ALL OVER Duck Commander/Duck Dynasty for the #39, that'd be SO awesome! C'mon Robertson clan, throw some of your $$$$ to SHR!

I'll answer for MJ.....it's DEI but since Teresa destroyed it many refer to it as TEI.

With all the tractor equipment that Ryan owns, antique and new...maybe those manufacturers would be some to go after and I am thinking of John Deere, Case, Kubota, & New Holland.

It would make more sense if she was still the sole owner and the team didn't bare Ganassi. She isn't even listed as an owner for any of the two cars.
