I am not jealous just because I am a fan of Ryan's, but for every driver I have been a fan of with the exception of DW.
In the modern Era I can only think of three teams that could be considered for the best ever.
Late 70's-80's Junior Johnson #11 team
90's HMS #24 team
& the #48 team.
So I think in jealousy, the what if's for Ryan, Rudd, Schrader, Gant & others I loved to watch, if they had a team like that from the start. Ahhh! the What if's!
I cant complain about JJ as a driver. So I resort to jealousy!
I cant be Jealous for my all time favorite driver. DW because he was on what might have been the best team ever. (with him & Cale)
Jealousy IMO is a bad reason not to like someone.
I don't like JJ because I am jealous. That is petty.
I don't like JJ because who he is and what he represents which is a perfectly great reason and I'd love to see anyone say it isn't

not talking about him as a person. I dont even know him. It is the same thing as someone that doesnt like the Yankees or the Cowboys or pick any real successful sports team. With all that said.

Difference between me & others is I can admit my honest reasons for not liking him & the 48 team. I dont make up silly reasons or try to blow something out of porportion to invent a reason not to like him & the 48 team.
I cant claim I didnt like JJ before he became successful in cup, because I knew nothing of his background until he became a champion. I knew Gordon liked him in the Busch series, but knew nothing of his resume. I didnt know about his ofroad racing or anything. So I would have to lie to say I didnt like him before he started winning championships after championships.

I just can't get mad over someone doing their jobs well. That is why people don't like the New England Patriots (big Patriots fan).
I don't know if the admitting honest reasons thing was directed at me or you're just saying that in general. But I've watched Johnson race since ASA when they would put some races on t.v (they still do at times). I didn't like his smug attitude. He didn't even have much success in that series.
Then when he moved to nationwide that was as close as neutral I was ever on him. He wasn't talked about at all and only won a nationwide race because Ryan Newman cut a tire and he had enough fuel.
When he moved into cup, he just got this ego that "I'm the man in HMS equipment". And he went for the corporate puppet look instantly. I am a Tony Stewart fan so I guess that turned me off.
He has always made it seemed like he could do no wrong. When he f'ed up he would say sorry and expect it to be okay. But if someone f'ed up he say that "they are just a bunch of idiots." Go look up races from 2002 to 2005 and youtube and see.
What made him become my least favorite driver was the 2005 Daytona speedweeks. Two things. He gets loose infront of Kevin Harvick in the duels and Harvick hits him and a big wreck happens. He leaves unscathed while Harvick and others are tore up. He started second in the 500 so he parked his car for the remainder of the duel and said that "Harvick tried to give me a flat on the initial start. I hope Childress fires him, or does something about him, or NASCAR does something about him about him because this is ridiculous." I remember I was like "what an fing crybaby."
Then in the 2005 Daytona 500, Tony had that race won. He lead over half the race. Then late in the race Johnson decided to block for Jeff Gordon. Gordon won and Tony finished seventh. Tony was not happy with JJ at all. I thought it was classless of him to play blocker for his teammate. And then Kanus tried to get all big with Tony.
Then at Talladega in 2005 remember when he caused the biggest wreck in the modern era of cup racing? Then he caused another wreck. Those were the only two wrecks that day. Dale Earnhardt Jr called him a moron and Greg Biffle said "I like Johnson, but he wasn't in the field today there probably wouldn't have been any crashes."
I don't like Kurt Busch, but how he handled whatever that was was classless. He wrecked Kurt about four times and when Kurt touched him a little bit on the last lap of a race for third, after he started it, he cries a river and says he never hit them.
But I don't fault him for being good at what he does or Chad for being good at what he does. I just hate to see someone I don't like win.
