Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

I don't mind a little point/counter point as long as it's done in a respectful manner.

No, I'm not the administrator on here nor am I the judge/jury and the executioner.

I have been writing on internet boards since 2002. Mainly Nascar related in general and mostly Ryan Newman as the topic. I think I know him pretty well.

This site is predominantly Tony Stewart fans. Nothing wrong with that but it is what it is. Most "die hard" Newman fans are over at his official site as I was for many, many years. And, just like this site. It became divided with certain little cliques. That's fine with me if you have your favorites along with those you may not like. I can't control that.

I personally couldn't care less what Jimmie Johnson or Woody Woodpecker says about my favorite Nascar driver. It's all part of the Nascar experience. Nascar feeds on drama and it is encouraged by upper management. Other wise, all you would have is 43 cars going around in circles week to week........WOW,BORING!

We don't know if our favorite driver would ever see anything we may post on here? Many may believe this to be true and that's why they act like they do. As if there favorite driver is logging on to read what he or she may have said. Personally, I doubt any driver logs on to read our commentary. They are way to busy! This is why when I post, I'm not afraid to say what's on my mind. I mean really, do you think Newman would "ban" me from this board? These drivers except 24/7 365 Tv/radio/internet/tweet/skype etc. etc. criticism. They are making millions people.....it's all relative and laughable to them!

Sorry, I got a little winded here. My point is. Think of these drivers as bad actors that didn't end up being lawyers. And, just don't take it personally if a comment is thrown out there by who-ever about YOUR favorite driver. Not everyone is going to be in love with your favorite driver In Nascar just as not everyone loves your favorite sports teams! :D

or here is an excerpt of an article;

"We had a great race car," said Johnson, who has had four second-place finishes since his last victory. "Our pit stops were amazing. We had a very fast race car. A little bit more respect from some lapped traffic and things could have been different. We just got tangled up in some lapped traffic and the 16 (Biffle) made a great move and got by me."

Johnson and Biffle were the class of the field and Johnson had a lead of more than a second over Biffle before traffic slowed him down. Johnson couldn't figure out why Ryan Newman was racing Johnson so hard. Newman was two laps down at the time and holding Johnson up cost him momentum and allowed Biffle to get a run on him and take the lead for good on Lap 304.

"My issue was with the 39 when I got inside him," Johnson said. "He was already a lap down and proceeded to race me and cost me the lead."

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

i already posted that he had a issue with ryan, and he went to tony afterwards to talk, but my beef was with the first post, about JJ tweeting his anger with ryan which he never did, i want you to give me an example of a driver not bein caught up in the heat of the moment and blaming someone, tony has done it in the past, but thats ok, because you love tony, so JJ is frustrated cuz the past two weeks he could have won, im sure by friday he will say he over reacted.
ryan and JJ are my fav drivers, and i will always defend both of them, im suppose to respect tony and everything he has done, which i do, but its ok for people to rip JJ apart because they dont like him, and then i get attack for liking something, screw that!
i am a reflection of the people that post, i can go forever not bringing JJ up, im here for ryan, but if i see someone totally lying im gonna stand up and call that person out, i can sit here and mention all the miscues tony has done throughout his career, but why bother? it doesnt add to the debate or conversation, so we can debate, or we can post lies and continue to make this a site of hate, which for some reason, the latter is the popular choice, again i never doubted what JJ said in interviews, but i did have a problem with the whole twitter thing, and this thread was posted to get the reaction it, SS is known for that. all because tony had a bad night, he posted crap to make himself feel better.

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

Why defend JJ all the time? People can say whatever they want about him here since this isn't his board. Like you said you are here for Ryan Newman, NOT Jimmie Johnson.

I get that you like him, I like non SHR drivers, but I am not going to get upset if someone says something about Jamie, Kevin, Jr or Carl here, it is their right. Now if someone said something worth commenting on I'd give a valid post, but not attack that said member. For example you turned my thread about saying congrats to Greg Biffle into a Tony/Jamie bash thread since I said I was happy that JJ didn't win. That is immature.

What you do is weak. Whenever someone says something bad about your boy you take it to heart and bash Tony, or even Ryan. Do you think JJ would like what you do? JJ doesn't care that he has haters. All drivers have their haters, get used to it.

I made this thread to tell Newman fans of what JJ said, because I thought it was interesting that JJ once again was bashing Ryan. This isn't the first time he has done something like that. If you don't like the post, don't read or comment on it, simple as that. You say some members want to control what you post, well you should look in the mirror. Why would you have an issue witht he twitter thing? This is where I got it from
@jeff_gluck Remember when I thought JJ was mad at KuBu? It was Newman. JJ: "He was already a lap down and proceeded to race me and cost me the lead."

And I wonder why most people I know don't like forums  .

Sounds like frustration talking. There was no way he was gonna stop the biff. Once Biffle got by him. He drove away from him. (even before he hit the wall)
Ryan wasnt in front of JJ to long, like I said earlier he was a sitting duck. But to correct the writer. Ryan was one lap down (until after JJ passed him to put him two laps down)
Why would this matter, you ask? Glad you asked. I wish Ryan had a better handling car at that time & could have raced the leader hard to stay one lap down. Why? Because if a yellow comes out & he is ahead of the leader, not only does he stay that one lap down, but the leaders would pit & he could already make it to the end of the race, so staying out would have put him on the lead lap. Huge difference from 2 laps down to being on the lead lap. 2 laps down is a death sentence to making up laps. I would expect drivers to try even harder to not go two laps down then going one lap down (which can be made up easily)
Bottom line is Ryans car was in no shape to hold up the leaders. They blew by him. Now JJ might have caught Ryan in a bad place, & Ryan didnt hit the brakes & slow down on the straightaway so JJ could pass him on the straights. Ryan just drove around by the wall. Which is all that should have been expected.
The one guy that cost JJ the win, is Greg Biffle.

Re: JJ says Ryan cost him the win

my point of view, i could see ryan fighting JJ to stay 1 lap down, because so many cars were down a lap, and points are very few and between, as we learned last yr, 1 point made the difference,

tlmerk wrote:I may be ignorant Wolfgang because I don't know if you're being ironic or serious but I DID think everyone liked Ryan until last weekend at my son's track meet and one of his friend's mom said she hates Tony and Ryan because they're both whiners! I was shocked at first and then I remember the times Ryan DOES complain (usually about safety issues but I've heard him complain about some drivers too). I just thought Ryan was the driver everyone liked (kind of like Martin or Ambrose). Guess I was wrong. I still think he's the most under-rated driver but then I'm biased.

Of course her husband's favorite driver is Tony Stewart (whoop) but she likes Biffle and Truex and her son likes Gordon. It's kind of funny when everyone in the family likes a different NASCAR driver. I wonder if that's common. Since I'm the only one in my family who likes NASCAR, I wouldn't know. (Although, if pressed my husband likes JJ but as I've posted before he once gave him a ride at Vegas Speedway and didn't even know who he was until they got to the pit area and JJ invited him into the pits.)
NO you aren't ignorant and yes i am being arrogant-i mean ironic. To be honest,i probly know a whole lot more people who don't like Tony and when it comes to Ryan it's either they like him or they say he's ok.Majority of the people i know could care less about Nascar that were once fans and the few that still are of course still have their favs. The one thing we all agree on is they ALL whine about one thing or another from time to time, some more than others. The other hand,i've been known to whine myself and i know some that just never stop whining. When Harvicks crew screwed up Sat.and he went from 2nd to 10th,i did alot of whining then or was it bitchin',i'm not sure i know the differance.

WG: I think Tony polarizes most fans-- you either love him or hate him and we all know the reasons for either of these. LOL
