Wow, with all the troubles Team #39 pulls out a win!

Most of the glory on this site has gone to Tony Stewart no doubt. It's a shame it's that way...really!

After he got caught speeding, I have to admit I thought the day was pretty much over.

But, as I have always said about Ryan,"Anything can happen, and it usually does!"

Newman is now 8TH in points.

Many will say he "lucked out"........that's racing folks.

Hope to see many more this year..........

Ryan showed today why you never give up. Great job he wheeled it all day and got the win.

Nice to see all the Stewart fans dropping by for a rare appearance in the Newman section. We don't get to "toot our own horns" all that often unfortunately.

Great news for the 39th team. Luck, great driving, and maybe just being in the right place at the time they'll take it. The Hendricks teams can't have all the fun can they? It's so fantastic to see that big smile on Ryan's face. Another thing that is cool is the SHR with all the stats added up have big bragging rights.

Very happy for Ryan. Yesterday was a great example of how you can never give up. Ryan had the skill, as well, to persevere 'well enough' to put himself near the front to be in the 'right place at the right time'.

I had to record the race yesterday. We got home last night and I sat down to watch (ok, I fast forwarded a lot until I got to the last 100 laps...). My husband couldn't stand it and looked up the results. Risking death he told me "I won't say anything else, but you'll be happy when it's over". It took me until the crash at the very end to figure out this meant Ryan was going to win. My husband knew I'd made Jeff my pick to win the race and when I saw him pull off the pass on Jimmie, I thought "He's gonna pull it off. Now hubby is in trouble...I can't believe he gave it away to me!" The second the crash happened on the restart, I started celebrating for Ryan. Tony pulled off a top 10 on top of it, so I indeed was happy at the end of the day.

This is too much about me..... Congrats, Ryan & team 39!!!!!

it was funny after he pitted, he was P5 & when they were lining up they told him he was fine, & he would be ok. Ryan came on the radio & said screw that, I am freakin' going for it! The spotter replied I got your back. Next thing you know he was in the lead LOL.

Can't blame Clint or Ryan going for it,i blame the #48 for the crash,he's the one who got into #24! Kyle Petty is an idiot,stating Rutti should have pulled in the pits and how bad he felt for Mr.H,i say B.S.! Nascars fault for the top 35 deal and all Rutti was trying to do till the eng. quit was try to keep the #10 in the top 35.Then far as HMS,i'm overjoyed they didn't win cuz i can't stand the man or did i want to hear all the B.S.for the next week or so! Pretty much appeared to me that's what Nascar wanted,but unfortunately for them they had an exciting ending to a race i found rather dull for the most part.The Truck race the day before was dull too,Harvick led all but two laps the whole race.Harvick fan i may be,but i like a little show,follow the leader SUCKS!!! THANK YOU RYAN for having a set and getting the job done with less than what the two dominaters had!!!!

I have decided that the restarts are a SHR speciality. Drove it like you stole it Ryan. Wreckers or Checkers!! Enjoy your new clock! After Victory Lane celebration it is going to need cleaning!

Yesterday when Ryan was a lap behind because of the penalty, Tony let him by and then closed the door on Biffle so Ryan could get the" Lucky Dog" when the yellow came out. His spotter asked him what he was doing, "Just helping out a team mate and friend!". Tony really is a good guy!

I agree with your post. Gordon and Johnson were their own worst enemy when they stayed out and didn't get new tires. Finally someone else had a very cool oportunity to cash in on a win. They always say it's not the race but the checkered finish line. As for Kyle Petty he is in the same league as the two Waltrips. They love to hear their own voice whether or not they make sense.

yeah I noticed that. Kinda amazing all that goes on & how quickly it goes on in a short track they know all the senarios in their head. Like Ryan was LD & Biff was behind him.
Later in the race when Ryan was on the lead lap, Tony got hung out on the outside & was being freighttrained. Ryan let him in in front of him so he could get to the bottom, & the next lap Tony let Ryan pass him on the outside. They do work well together as teammates.
