All things Ryan
Fri Feb 18, 2011 1:34 pm
As of today (Feb 18, 2011), more people are posting on Ryan's threads than on Tony's. This should say something to those Ryan fans who come onto this site and feel like outsiders. I have never felt that way and think Ryan is always nicely represented and well loved by all SHR fans. The amount of posts on Ryan Vs. Tony right now (50 vs 45) should send everyone a message.
Rocket Ryan Newman is an excellent driver, smarter than the other drivers, funnier than most of them and has an awesome team behind him (SHR).
I predict he will definitely be in the Chase this year!

I, for one, really hope Ryan makes the Chase this year. I was disappointed that he missed it last year.

i dont have a side either way i like them both but the better conversations are on ryan's section right now

I'm glad that Tony extended the ride to Ryan. I'm equally as glad Ryan took it. I hope both of them find success this year. I just hope Ryan finds more!

The main reason for the difference in the number of posts between Tony & Ryan's forums is the one "Minnesota Congresswoman" thread. It's in Ryan's forum because of his US Army sponsorship.
Being a topic, political in nature, it's going to draw more reaction and posts. Take that one topic away and it's almost a dead heat.

no disrespect to tony fan, but it was peanut who posted everything tony, if not everything at least 90%

Hey tlmerk!
I am in no way trying to compete with Stewart fans. All I have known since late 2001 is driver Ryan Joseph Newman from South Bend, Indiana.
Ryan is not well loved by all SHR fans with the many threads I have read on the old blog. But, that's alright with me. People are entitled to their own opinions as long as it's not in a mean spirited way.
Ryan is as good as any current driver in the stock car world. If Newman had the luck and cars of Jimmie Johnson. I have no doubt, he too would have 5 Championships!
I can appreciate your enthusiasm for Newman. I have felt that way since 2002!

In retrospect I should NOT have named this thread Ryan Vs. Tony. Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge Smoke fan too. I just thought it was interesting how many people were posting in the Ryan forum esp. compared to the Stewart forum. I really thought it would have been heavy on the Tony side (it still might be that way over time).
It was nice to see so many Newman fans represent! YEAH!!!
Didn't mean to sound like it's a competition, afterall, we're all on the same team. But Smoke has already won 2 championships, and Ryan is such a great driver!
And you're soooo right Chevy39---if Ryan had JJ's ride, it'd be a different story!

sorry tlmerk i wasnt trying to say there was anything wrong with your title. i was trying to prevent #### off peeps when i said this section had better discussion. im kind of surprised there arent more interesting topics and conversations for an official site. i didnt read the old one very often cause i didnt have time but when i did there was more stuff going on. i got a shiny new cell that lets me be able to read and post more on places. maybe its the transition is making it slow

I have actually met Ryan when he was in New Hampshire several years ago when I was at one of those races. He is very down to earth, but you know what so is Tony. I have met him as well at a different track in a different year. I have been a fan of both of them for many years now and when Tony partnered with Gene Haas and then took on Ryan, I could not have been happier. Nothing better than being a member of just one club instead of two, financially speaking.

When I read the title, I was thinking it was going to be about one of two things.
1. The incident in Gatorade Duel 1.
2. Ryan's Head Bounce
Honestly, Ryan has always been a guy I've kind of liked, never been one of my main favorites, obviously now that he and Smoke are teammates I've started to root for him more, but I'm here as a Tony Stewart fan, period. It's great that Ryan is well represented too, though. I used to see almost as many 12 decals on cars and trucks as I did 8s, 20s, or 24s. First time I finally got to go to a race at Atlanta in October 2005, I spent half the time spying on this hot blonde wearing a white Ryan Newman sweatshirt. Hmmm, wonder if she's here. If you were sitting in turn four at the 2005 Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500, wearing a white Newman Sweatshirt and these huge sunglasses, howdy, you're hot. And I'm qualified to make the judgement after spying on ya for 162 laps.

That's the hard cold facts about Nascar racing. Being the greatest driver the world has ever seen makes no difference if his cars stink!
Newman got boned for many years driving those stinking Dodge Chargers for Roger Penske. Everyone thought Roger could mimic his IRL success in Nascar........wrong! Newman had to endure a lot of experimentation from his racing team that resulted in many years of garbage race cars. Not only was Dodge way behind in their engine program but.........their Dodge Charger body style had terrible aero numbers. Ryan knew all of this but you can't come out publicly and throw your owner or your race Team "under the bus!" Us fans knew it but what can you do?
You know how it is. Unless you pay close attention to one drivers career for many, many years. You really have no idea about their racing reality. Newman lost many good years of his racing career being the under dog to Rusty and being the test car for Penske!

SO WHAT? It looks like your keeping score again like the last site. FYI, I have access to most all things Tony & Ryan. I post them all. If you don't like that I post mostly Tony stuff, then YOU post more Ryan stuff or put me on your Foe's list & you won't have to read them. Geesh, give it a rest would ya?

added: This isn't a competition, I agree.. There are 33 Tony Blogs & I started 8 of them. I think you need Math classes. Just Sayin...lmaoooo
