PRE POCONO!

Is there a boycott of my post? Is everyone sending private messages about how much they hate me? I realize I'm not with any current cliques. Trust me, I'm not overly sensitive or new to the internet. Come on folks, let's hear from you! :D

Now that Matt Borland is in charge. Will that equate to better track performances? :?

I heard talk on PRN that S/H has come to that cross road of doubt about using another competitors engines/chassis just as we have been discussing on here. How weird is that? Only problem is that S/H doesn't have those "deep pockets" and can not afford to start building their own stuff at this time. It's all a very nice thought but will not happen anytime soon! :(

I wish I could live in a bubble of goodness about my favorite driver and his team but I just can't. Way to many years invested to set back and watch Newman look so ridiculous on race day......sorry! I do feel things will get better with all the "baby steps" being taken at S/H. ;)

Pocono...since 2009 Ryan Newman has finished an average of 11.25/0-wins/1-top 10 out of 4 races. I know, not very stellar numbers. :D

Not worried at all about his fine. That's done and over and pocket change to Newman.

Would love to see a good race with Newman at least a top 10 and NOT dropping off into the abyss of race cars Sunday. :D

GOOD LUCK MATT BORLAND AND TEAM #39!

Re: PRE POCONO!

I hope Boreland makes some changes, it's gotta be done.

You are like a Newman stat book man, but you are a lil wrong w/ one of your stats. Ryan actually has 2 Pocono wins, one cup win, and one ARCA win. I was lucky enough to see them both live
"He makes me look thinner" Tony on why he picked Ryan to be his team mate. bet he's gonna enjoy his fair share of Krissie's cookies every weekend lol

Since 2009 was the years of my stats. I figure why go back any further since the COT and his new race team! :D

I appreciate that MJ!

You are right MJ. Things will not change unless drastic measures are applied to this race team.

My information was always subjected to scrutiny all the years I was on Ryan Newman's Official Site. It was all done on purpose to satisfy some seriously irritating people who enjoyed giving me a hard time. I listen to hours of internet radio and have some information RSS into my email about every day then the rest is just gut feeling from being a fan of 10 years. I have met Ryan many times in person. Had several one on one conversations with him. But un-fortunately, haven't seen him in years do to lack of funds. Going to races can get very expensive as you know.

Oh and by the way....I have NEVER been to a Nascar race in my entire life! I saw quals back in 2005 at Lowes Motor Speedway and that's it! I guess in my mind. Attending a million races live doesn't make you an expert. Just means you have the money and free time most don't have! :D

Re: PRE POCONO!

I'm hopeful that Matt will make the changes needed to get these teams back on track. However, I really think it's going to mean getting rid of Tony G from Ryans box. Not sure about Grubb. He seems to be on more than he is off. I've seen him take a bad car and make it better by race end. I can honestly say, I havn't seen Ryan go from bad to good very often at all. Most of the time, it's bad to worse. Then, they try to rely on race strategy to get a decent finish vs. giving Ryan a car he can race with. What fun is that!

I think this is a step in the right direction. As I mentioned in another post, I think/hope there are more changes to come!

As far as Pocono, the 39 crew needs to tighten up and have a good race or this could be the week Ryan falls out of the top 10 and chase contention. After such a strong start, it is REALLY disappointing to have wonder each race if his car is going to be on or off. Beacuse if it is off, it won't be right the entire race. Goodness, this reminds me of his Penske days and that crappy dodge he used to drive week after week. With the chassis and engines he has now, mid-pack is unacceptable. I'm hoping for a huge weekend for the 39!

You are right L-39. All this bad racing brings back all those horrible emotions of the old Roger Penske days!

I agree. Tony Gibson needs to pack his very large lunch pail and take some of those arthritic/slow pit crew guys with him please. By the middle of any race. Ryan's cars are so bad he's about willing to load them up in the hauler and head to the house!

Matt is back! Let's hope the old master can get things going for "The Rocket"/"Rainman" and bring back some of those missing good old memories us Newman fans use to enjoy!

Matt Borland is back! :D

If the "wizard of balance"(Matt Borland)can't find the sweet spot of a race car.........nobody can! 8-)

Thanks for the more positive news Schmoopy1000. :D

I was running out of lip stick I was applying to all those pigs Newman was driving on race day just to make his cars look more pretty. Good grief Tony Gibson, how can you sleep at night or feel you have earned your paycheck making Newman look like he was towing an anchor behind his race car? It's any wonder Nascar didn't "black flag" Newman for driving so slow or loosing so much track position!

Re: PRE POCONO!

well lets hope the 39 can put together a solid day, since bein at pocono, anythin in the top 15 for me would be a good day, but obviously a win or top 5 would be great.

Re: PRE POCONO!

A solid run for Ryan would be a refreshing change. :D Here's hoping!!! Maybe Matt has had enough time in his new position to push TG a little harder. Maybe not. It is kinda soon after the change at SHR.

Re: PRE POCONO!

Glad to see the #39 team do well... congrats. Did you hear the announcers mention that Matt Borland had come from Jamie Mac's garage after he lost 3rd gear to tell TG to tell Ryan since they were running the same transmission? Sounds like Matt is going to be a hands-on VP. Maybe things will turn around for SHR.

Good run Rocket Man :!: :!: :D :D :D

Re: PRE POCONO!

So we have something good to look forward to at Indy this year in July. :D He had a great run going until he lost 3rd gear. Hopefully there won't be any shifting at Indy. ;)
