Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

what does that say about the SHR mngmnt if they would accept lesser equipment and not say anything? i doubt hendrick is pawning off lesser engines, it all comes down to the personal that works on the cars during the week, and the CC's at the track

wolfgang wrote:Whether or not HMS engines are lacking performance is really hard to say as handling or bumbling pit crews play a major part as well, let alone crew chiefs missing the set up and not being able to adjust during the race. What i would question is how come SHR ran so well the very beginning of the season over HMS and now SHR just forgot what to do when they get to the track? Just a question or thought that has been eating at me since HMS is now running better than SHR had been earlier this season.Noticed this last year too,but hey Rick Hendrick is such an honest guy,"choke"! Why sell your best to the competition if they are going to beat you with it is the real question i guess?
Hey wolfgang.

I have always wondered about having a competitor building your chassis and engines. :? It does make you question this in a sport as competitive as Nascar. How often do non Hendrick teams win in comparison?

It's like you said. It's a culmination of everything that is hurting Newman's performances!

Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

like i said if people think they are bein short changed by hendricks, it says a lot about shr,

if ya look at it, hendrick isnt winning as much as they have in the past, so i dont buy that exscuse of SHR getting lesser gear, they got weaker personal bottom line!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

something people have to realize, is HMS doesnt deliver a Crate engine you just drop into the race car. The teams put the motors together (sometimes many times) by the time a race starts. There are tons of things that make a motor better or worse. Whether it is jets in the carb. Spark plugs, timing or any host of combination of things, they put in & take out & replace throughout a week. So unless HMS is delivering bad engine blocks (such as badly done cylinders) you cant blame HMS for the foul motors.

Now with all that said, I did mention before the season, I was worried about HMS power even late in last season. SHR (or HMS) didnt seem to have the power of toyota, or ECR motors, & now the F-9 seems to be the cats meow. So I dont think SHR or HMS has more or maybe even as much as these other motors. But I thought that from late last season. I dont think HMS is holding out. I just dont think they are even near the top motor right now.

Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

HMS is NOT giving SHR mad equitment.

1. I don't like Rick Hendrick but he is a businessman above everything. He can not sell bad products. He makes money off of Tony remeber.

2. Tony wouldn't accept lesser engines and would have hooked up with someone else.

Some of the people are SHR aren't getting the job done. There are two more then capable drivers but things are not working. They are both currently in the chase however so I am confident things will get turned around.

Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

Tony was on one of the race shows last night and stated both his teams were having trouble with the tires and getting the handling down with these new tires.Tony also stated HMS shares "all" information as does SHR with them.OK,then why do both the #14 and #39 have tire issues and apparently HMS doesn't since everything is shared so well? The past seven weeks and four even more so,yah think the info.is spread a little thin? Never believed in buying engines from other competitors, let alone chassis, but i also understand SHR isn't in a position to build their own as yet.Ron Hutter was a big eng.builder in the NE and he went to Nascar Bush and Truck series and Dale Snr.bought his engines then and kicked even HMS ####.Every Dirt Modified i'd seen before with a Hutter eng.stood out above all the rest,he went to Nascar and Enders took over and now have the dominate eng.in the Modifieds.Hutter and Enders don't race, they just build awesome engines,so why buy from a competitor that's racing against you every race?Personally,i'd give you a good engine, but the best eng.is going in my teams cars.Bussiness all round far as i see it.How the #### does Tony know for sure what he's getting,he doesn't.Only one way to tell, buy someone elses and give it a try w/o HMS knowing and go from there.

Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

Well, it sure didn't seem to me that they were having problems with the new tires earlier in the year. I'm not doubting Tony, he should know, but I feel it is more than that. I think it is balance issues for sure, but not all because of the tires.

Re: WHAT THE #$%^!!!!!!!

Wow... some interesting posts. I agree with 90% of what you all are saying. Big thing is we have to make some changes. Ryan is too good of a driver to keep getting just so-so cars, so-so pit crews, etc. I still wish SHR would separate themselves from Hendricks motors. I don't care what kind of relationship Tony has with Rick, I can't trust a competitor to make my engine if I am running against him. Maybe I'm being naive and some would say an engine is an engine is an engine. But it doesn't sit right with me. Conflict of interest, etc.

No doubt L-39.

Newman's team has far more problems than tires...sorry Tony! If that's the case. They should do more tire testing and stop whining. Tony's covering for Newman's inept race team. I can understand that I guess. :?

I head it again on PRN internet radio. They are saying what I said. Roush,Gibbs and Childress are pulling away as far as competitive teams this year. They even mentioned how their engines seem a little stronger. All great minds think alike I guess! :D
