Smoke finished last in the A-Main, but made a "rousing" comeback to make it there after crashing in the 2nd heat race. He had the fans on their feet when he started last but made it to 6th to qualify for the A-Main.

Dang wish I was there. I would much rather see Tony driving in the A-main of a sprint car race on a small dirt oval than any NASCAR race. Actually, I think I have seen Tony race this way but it was before I knew who Tony Stewart was and I have watched his team race and reference made to Tony Stewart being the owner but didn't know who he was then either. I was too busy rooting for our local drivers. Jeesh!
