I too, think "the leg" might have a little something to do with things. On a road course (and PLEASE correct me if i'm wrong) I believe there's a ton more of shifting than at an oval. If Tony shifts with his right foot as well as work the brakes with the right foot, I'd imagine that there might be some numbness as the race wore on.

Or not. Even if it was leg-related, they'd never in a gazillion years admit it.

You mean left foot don't you? How do you shift with the right foot? I assume you mean working the clutch pedal? I believe when they shift on an oval, like at Pocono, most times they don't use the clutch pedal. But I think on a road course where they shift and downshift more than one gear, they use the clutch pedal.
