Nice run Smoke!

No doubt, it's been a rough start. Tonight, it was great to see a smile on Tony's face after a race. At a track like Bristol, a top 5 finish from a start from the lower 30's, is nothing short of impressive, maybe even almost miraculous.
I commented in a different thread this week about how "toughness" would be the word of the week for Tony, concerning just how well his leg has recovered and how much discomfort he has on a track like Bristol. Well, question answered. The man is tough...no doubt about it.
Congrats on a great race, to the entire team. Well done. 8-)

Re: Nice run Smoke!

We can drop the "leg" questions. If the team can consistently give Tony cars with the right setup, he'll do just fine.

What are the 3 most important things in a race car? Setup, setup, setup!

Re: Nice run Smoke!

Before the race I woulda bet that the #14 would not finish within 5 laps of the winner -- so glad to be wrong!
It's been awhile since Tony could start a straightaway behind on a short track and move up, but at 100 laps, there he was in the Top 20. When the rain delay came, I told myself the car would probably go away and the good run would be over; WRONG AGAIN! Daaang! It was good to see Tony smiling after a race again! :D

Great job by Tony and the 14 crew! Things will come together maybe in small steps but they will get there!

I think Jr. might change it just a little...setup, setup, enough fuel! ;)

Re: Nice run Smoke!

My only complaint is that I couldn't watch Tony slice and dice his way up the field, so glad he had a good run, and so early in the season what a bonus

Re: Nice run Smoke!

Amazing run by all SHR cars at one time or another. But Tony's was the most gratifying to see as he had to come from the lower 30's
