“I’ve watched Austin for many years and at each stage of his racing career he’s been successful,” Stewart said. “He’s proven to be a very fast learner, and he’s able to adapt quickly. Being the youngest champion in the history of the Truck Series is proof of that. I say.......if it is alright with Tony, then it certainly alright with me! I met Austin about 4 yrs ago, very nice young man! After watching him at Eldora I think he can hold his own.....first time Austin drove Michigan he finished 11 in the # 33 at the beginning of the year.
