Tony finishes fourth time for a championship

This time I have to challenge the remark about Tony not knowing about 86 wins. I think he knows very well what wins are. He has championships in several different venues going back to when he was a youngster. But I suppose when your a dyed in the wool Gordon fan then it's fun to go on someone elses site (since Gordon doesn't have one) and berate the man who pays for this site. Is Tony going to go for 4? Oh great heavens I hope so as it might just shut some people up. By the way Mr. Gordon praised Tony last night in the showing of the Blues show in Chicago and put him in the catagory of AJ Foyt, Andretti and a few others. That has to account for something.

I don't find fun in it, I call defending my driver. Ya know I do like Newman. Hences why I'm here also gordon has several wins and championships prior to NASCAR. If I Remeber correctly, he had over 600 wins before the age of 16. Plus the 86 wins are CUP. Not another series or venues.

Gordon ran USAC. USAC back then was the road to Indy. So naturally he was on that path and even tested one. But since it was all about $$ he couldn't get a ride. Then he tested a stockcar and decided that he rather race in NASCAR and the rest in history.

He went down & tested a stock car & was hooked. They say he called his Dad that night & said sell all our stuff I found what I want to do. (& moved south)
It was 100% what he wanted to do

I never said he raced in NASCAR because he couldn't get an open wheel ride. I just said he couldn't get an open wheel ride. Yes when he did that stock car test he was hooked.

dont wanna break hearts but i will, if you wanna break down the early 90's indy was a big deal so i could see gordon not getting a ride, but come the mid 90's when penske broke away, anybody and their mother could get a indy ride they were so desperate, all the good drivers followed penske in the new driving series, and indy didnt become relevant until the ford indy series closed up a few years back, so people can hoot and holler how great indy racing was in the mid to late 90's, it was garbage...
