Race weather

Weather: It looks like Mother Nature plans to once again get in the way of a weekend of NASCAR racing. A quick look at the weekend forecast from The Weather Channel shows a 60% chance of rain both Friday and Saturday--which will likely affect practice and qualifying for both Sprint Cup and the Truck Series as well as the Truck Series race Saturday afternoon--followed by a 10% chance for Sunday. And keep in mind that New Hampshire Motor Speedway doesn't have lights, making the window for getting the race in much shorter. Drivers and media alike have been commenting on the weather:

@dennyhamlin: The tunnel going into the track. It's obvious that we bring the rain http://yfrog.com/hw5r5uvj

@bobdillner: @TWCbreaking @weatherchannel - infield tunnel closed at NH Motor Speedway - flooded after heavy rains #NASCAR lockerz.com/s/141090221

@andylally: Just got into the track at NH. If I showed up much later I wouldn't have made it through this... http://twitgoo.com/4js2ux

@andylally: At least I might get my first scuba lesson from @Brendan62 while exploring the depths of the infield here tomorrow.

@kevinharvick: Pouring down rain here in NH go figure...

Re: Race weather

Well, if practice # 1 & quals are rained out, then Kevin & Tony will start on the front row. :D :D :D :D

Re: Race weather

I don't trust people to predict weather patterns for New England who are from Atlanta, GA.

I would rather follow the local news forcasters because they live in the area and have to deal with the people they are talking to.

Local forcasters are saying 25% chance of rain for Sunday, temps near 80, and partly cloudy.

Re: Race weather

25% is pretty low. I think the race will start as scheduled... pending any last minute changes in the forecast from the local weather guy/gal. ;) :D :D :D :D

Re: Race weather

All this rain that NASCAR is experiencing, they can send it to us here in Oklahoma and our neighbors in Texas. We could really use it, and I don't plan on going any where, too busy watching NASCAR.

Worked out well in the end for Ryan...The Rocketman wins the Pole for the second time in a row.
