17th for Tony

The big wreck kinda did that in he was on the appron. But still with the Vegas car he had a mediocre race Newman wasn't hood either before he wrecked. What is going on with SHR? I thought Tony could win his 3rd title this season after Vegas but things don't look great. Maybe it's still too early big I thought for sure the 600 would be good to him and he was never a factor.

Re: 17th for Tony

I feel your pain. Ryans car needed put out of it's misery, it was pitiful. Not sure whats up. But the crew chiefs cannot seem to adjust a race car at all. Until they get some solid setups, we will see more of the same. Ryan, for the last two years, finished strong in this race. To run like he did tonight is unacceptable. Both will not make the chase if this keeps up. FRUSTRATING!!

Re: 17th for Tony

Darian said he didn't want tony to come down pit road because the engine was hurt and they thought it would break when he came off pit road they both made the call to stay out and try.

Re: 17th for Tony

Tony/'s car sputtered but didn't run out I thought. He broke a valve spring is what I heard. What I didn't like was him wanting to quit AGAIN... That's twice in the last month. I just don't know what to think of the CC's, setups and drivers anymore. Tony racing in dirt isn't going much better either. I haven't given up but I hope last nite was a wakeup call for SHR. The points don't even matter to me because Tony advanced on the bad luck of other drivers. I was happy to see Ryan back out to finish the race, Kudos to his crew for that. C'mon SHR, get it together !!!!

Re: 17th for Tony

Tony gains a spot in the Chase (9th) at Ryan's expense (10th) who lost 3. Hard to be happy for either Tony or Ryan. :(

Re: 17th for Tony

I guess the engine sputtered and he was running 9th so thats a reasonable excuse. Bu he was never a real factor and that bothers me. Kansas is a great track for him to start his summer run abd I would be mad to see anyhing outside of a top five. If Tony could get hat early season speed back and the team could close things could be good but if not its going to be a long season.

Re: 17th for Tony

Both cars should be contenders every week now with this being the third year these guys have been together. Look at the difference even from the first of this season! You shouldn't struggle at tracks you excelled at 2 years in a row prior. Where is the notes?? With the All-Star race one week before, in which they ran pitifully, they should have taken some huge swings at the setups and fixed the problems, and not showed up with what looked like the same cars and same setups with no improvements whatsoever!! :x

Re: 17th for Tony

Thought Tony would have run better, based on how he ran in the All-Star race. 17th is certainly not a true telling of the story. I think without the miss in his engine, he could have easily grabbed a top-10 though. I certainly hope these guys keep their focus, because at the moment, Tony doesn't have his head high at all. They need to look past that, and just focus on getting a quality finish at Kansas. Not saying they have to go out and win the thing, but a top 5 would be great for this team. Certainly Kansas is a place they can get it at. 7 top-10's in 10 starts there for Smoke.

Well, it will be a good race to see where this team is at. He ought to be pretty strong here.

I agree in their thrid seasons struggles like this is unaccpetable. Teams miss the setups time from times but his frequently? It is a personell issue and I hope Tony can fix it. Tony was pretty solid in the All Star race though top five and they ran that Vegas car in the 600 which made the finish evern more disapointing.
