I know how you feel, was at my parents place on Monday and all it takes is one icy step and down you go.
Well that was me on Monday. I stepped on that one icy step and down I went. It took me a couple of days to be able to walk with any ability. I was all banged up in the head, neck, shoulders, ribs, and lower back. My Dad offered to call the local rescue and I refused. I said I just had the wind knocked out of me and he asked if I was sure. I told him of course I am not sure, do I look like a doctor to you. He then says, yup...yer fine, same ole' cranky self. I said and who do you think I got it from. So after lying there for about 15 minutes he helped me up. It was painful and still is, just not nearly as bad.
Beaver your fall was way more serious than mine. My steps were not slippery as they had been shoveled but they were a little wet. Not enough to fall from it. I still think one foot moved and the other didn't and it felt like I was thrown on to the small sidewalk. I never in my life screamed as loud as I did that day to get my husbands attention. I only hurt in my hip area and that isn't much but the big black & blue mark is ugly. I lost my keys but didn't know it for two days and that was when the the mail delivery man found them on the sidewalk. They sat there for two days. I'm just greatful that I didn't break any bones.
Thank you to those who took a step forward to save the rest who stand still.
