Here I sit in Chesapeake, Va. Just what this area needs, another drug store. At least I have an A/C trailer to go in to cool off today. Temps are s'pose to be in the hi 90's again today.

stay cool 'a'. At least a drug store is smaller than dept stores, job done quicker

Baking chicken breasts to take to my folks. The only A/C they have is their window unit in their bedroom that we made them put in. But they still try tuffing out the heat until they have to use it.

Was going to make home made white bread, but I'll be out of time, I'm supposed to be over there at noon. Would be 30 mins late. Unless I can get 30 mins out of the bread on rising time, but I doubt that one. Could only try, it's just flour & one pack of yeast.

We had a good time and served a cake that would serve 50 people. Everybody loved the cake and there were over 40 people there. My parents knew something was up...they made it clear...no party. Since when do kids listen to their parents. We didn't when we were kids, why should we start now. My parents received so much money on the money tree that it paid for an entire years worth of propane and a trip to Bar Harbor, their favorite destination spot for a weeks get-a-way.

We closed off the night with something we have never been able to do before because it has been illegal in Maine until this year. My brother bought $200 worth of fireworks and we set them off in their firepit in the middle of their yard. What a site to see. Never seen two guys run so fast and just get out of the way just in time.

Fun time had by all.

Sounds like you & your parents had a great time! That was cool.

Thanks for pictures beaver, now I can say I seen some this year. Dayton already had theirs Sunday & we didn't go see them. My city has theirs tomorrow night but I don't know if we'll get to see them or not.

We're to go to a cook-out at his folks, but I don't know what time. I do know I was told I had to bring pop for everyone & spent $15 on pop & then I still have to make a dessert. I'll make cup cakes & be done with it. I have 1/2 a small watermelon I can take. We ate on the other 1/2 at my folks today. They never have ice & we're always stuck getting that too, there goes $4 for the bag of ice. Will be 12 people there.

Thanks Beav. That might be the only fireworks we'll see this year.
With the hot temps. and lack of rain things are a little dry around here.
And most place's may cancel them this year.

So much for the cool down in temps. Temps going back into the mid 100's, with heat index's in the low to mid 115*, And a chance of a thunder storm every afternoon.

Good Morning Awsum and all the rest of the SHR Gang! Hope you are at least getting to take today off, and can keep cool. I'm still working on getting things straigtened out after 2 days of no power over the weekend. More storms coming today, but hopefully not as bad as the one last Friday night. Enjoy the fireworks, and cookouts today. Stay cool and safe!

Mrs B has to work today...kind of a catch 22...hire more people and keep most everybody between 20 and 30 hours a week or we hire almost nobody and everybody will see an increase of 10 to 15 hours per week. Nearly everybody wanted to take the increase. Who would not in these economic times. Finding anything close to full-time in our area is difficult to do. They have guaranteed it to last for at least 16 weeks.

Just was wonderin why Beave didn't give us an up-date on the points this week!!!! OOooo, I know now, cause I'm ahead of him in points Beave is in 21, & I'm in 18th place.....

I am not sure what points you are looking at, but I am in 12th and you are in 52nd. You have 1006 points and I have 1102 points. Last I knew 1102 was higher than 1006 and 12th was higher than 52nd in the points race. If you click on your points, that is what I have always been told they go by.
