Re: That beautiful view where you are or have been

Our friend sent this one as well. I thought this was a good photo...it almost looks like the water was freezing in mid-air then it looks like these icicles are longer than the other photos.

Now that is where the paradise on earth is. I could sit and look at this view forever. Now my favorite spot that I've actually seen is the Smokie Mountains. But not in the fog like the first time we drove thru the Smokies. The mountains in northern California are scary.

Re: That beautiful view where you are or have been

How do you think we felt this week when we hit -19 the other morning and with wind chill it was a -35...that is February weather temps. What the heck is going on. We have already broken the snowfall total for December, we have broken the total precipitation total for December, and we have broken the record lowest cold temp since 1931. I just want to know what gives, if this is a sign of what the rest of winter is going to be like...I ain't likin' it.

I know the other morning when I went out to start the truck...it gave me the attitude of "your kidding right, you didn't just turn that key" Then it took a look at the Dodge sitting beside it with 250 fewer horses which turned over like "this ain't nothin'...wait until it really gets cold" It started without hesitation and roared to life like "let me out on those slush covered roads...I'm ready."

This shot was taken yesterday afternoon by a friend of mine with his super fancy camera and all his gizmos.

This was taken at low tide during Hurricane Sandy back in 2012...during high tide it came right up over those rocks and up into the parking lot. Seas were running more than 18 feet above flood stage...Nature's Fury

This is brook that normally is just six feet wide, but with three weeks of rain in late May of 2012 it swelled up to this.

Re: That beautiful view where you are or have been

The guy that took these pictures is a friend of mine and he supplies me with pictures for my website at no charge because he knows that my site is part of a community service project. So he does the same thing by putting his pics on my site. Plus it gives him the added exposure. His name is Stephen Beckwith of Scenes of Maine Photography.

Beverpond Mr Beckwith's photography is expressive. Does he have his work published in magazines or into book form? If so I would love to see what he has. If there is a web site please let me know. I can be reach by pm's (somehow after two years that got fixed). Thanks.
