I've been planning to watch the Bates Motel too. I like the actress that plays Normie's mom on the show. I like weird shows like that too. 2 votes against and 1 for it huh? I'll have to watch and weigh in too.

Only current show I'm into is Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.....yeah.

ya she is a really good actress, one reason why i watched it, i think it will grow on people, when ya get a chance to watch it id like to talk about the first scene, dont wanna give anything away...

I forgot that I wanted to watch Bates Motel. I will have to try to catch up.

There are a few shows I make sure to see every week.... Justified, Walking Dead, Law & Order SVU, Castle, and I am still hanging in there with The Office (it's not as good as before, but still has its moments).

I particularly love Justified and I'm fascinated with The Walking Dead.

My husband is obsessed with NCIS and I have to say I am SO tired of that show and its endless re-runs. lol I tried to like it and I know many love it, but I just can't get into it.

smokieonefour- I always forget to watch Talking Dead. I don't know why I can't remember to program the DVR to record it. What do you think of how the season is wrapping up?

I didn't say I didn't like it, just that it was okay. There's some good actors on it. The girl that shows interest in Norman first is a little bit weird...in a good way. Hard to figure her out yet and what she's up to. Her and the other girl w/ the oxygen tank seem like they'll be pretty good.
I did have to laugh at the officer in the bathroom. I mean, really, you don't smell that? That and the fact that the boat should be a little more secluded, imo, are little things that make ya' go..hmmm.

I won't comment to much more on the rest until others get caught up. But yes, the first scene is interesting and needs to be dissected a little bit. I'm going to continue to give the show a chance, but hopefully it gets a little better. For the first episode and setting the story line, it wasn't bad.

Jelikit, im glad im not the only one who has thoughts on that scene, a lot questions to ask, but will wait for those who need to check it out

Leslie... you should try and catch the last few shows of the Talking Dead. Chris Hardwick hosts it and he has a changing panel of guests, which include huge fans, writers, producers, directors, stunt people, make up people and of course, the actors. They do a lil piece called RIP - where they run thru all the killings on the show that just aired. They basically discuss the show that was just on ... but do talk about past shows & future ones. They also give you insider info - like what an actor thought about a scene - or the FX peeps will tell how they did a shot, etc. Super cool show.

IE - Norman, who plays Daryl, asked the powers that be, if his character could get a dog this season. They said no, but gave him a new cross bow instead. The other one (the one used up until this new season ) was an old piece of junk that was getting people hurt, so as the producers looked into getting him a new one - a bow company stepped forward and offered their top of the line, brand new cross bow. They said because Rick had just taken stuff from his old armory, it made sense that they would get him a new one. So now... the one you see Daryl using, is a new, state of the art one. Sorry, I lost the details of company name & model of the cross bow.

Also, we learned, that the shot of the burned up, but still alive zombies in the pit - was actually only 3 extra's, dressed in suits of "charred, burned skin" and they moved... and also moved a few other legs & arms, to make it look like a lot of them were moving. I watched the scene the 1st time and it did look like there was a bunch of zombies moving in the pit - learned the lil factlet and watched the scene again. Was sooo cool to re-watch it, knowing what I had just learned.


What do I think now that the season is wrapping up? Oy vey... more waiting! LOL There seems to be 2 camps - those that know the comic book story line ... and those that do not. I have chosen to not read or know about the original story, as I want the TV version to unfold to me. After they're done, I may go back and read the comic books to see how they differed... but I don't want to know too much, in advance. I'm told that the 2 versions, while similar are very different, as well.

It seemed like the 1st season was fighting the walkers - the second season, fighting within themselves and now the 3rd, fighting with the town. I hope the town fight simmers to the back ground - maybe pop up here & there - but not be a central focus of the shows.

Just goes to show ya - the world can go to sh!t ....where everyone needs to get along... but there's ALWAYS a horse's behind in the group somewhere.... LOL

Okay, I feel kind of weird "interrupting" Smokie and JM's posts but I did want to say I finally saw the Bates Motel and have to wait until at least another eppy or two before saying if I like it or not. I love Norman and Norma. Vera F. is fabulosa and the kid who plays Norman was a great choice. He is the quintiscential "good" kid ala August Rush and the Charlie Bucket in the remake of Charlie and the Cholocate Factory movies. It's so easy for me to root for him. Good way to engage the audience. If he was unlikeable I probably wouldn't keep watching it. So I won't expound on the opening scene yet in case a couple of the people who wanted to watch it haven't yet (and thanks to those who saw it already for your discretion so I could see it and be completely surprised). guess on here we know there might be spoiler alerts.

Haha MJ. Yep Bates Motel (we could shortened it to BM? LOL) might get good. We'll have to see. I like the creepy cops. I like the girl with 02. And yes, I know Ms. Smokie can take care of herself. No worries there. I also know you guys are buds so... I just felt like I was coming in between a nice exchange.

OK, OK... if a bunch of peeps are saying this show ( Bates Motel ) is good... then maybe I'll need to give it another chance.

As far as spoilers go ... I think we've already covered this before... as the board is all on different times. I won't read the Survivor posts until I've seen the episode, so no spoilers for me. Anyone ahead of me ( in time ) who posts a posts, will be technically posting a spoiler, so I just don't look.
