This is NOT posed......it was the first cold day either of them had been a part of. They were only about 6 months old. We came downstairs and found 'em like this......

Dogs, cats, pigs, horse, and soon a miniature pony

Watch out for them hoofs on the horse, they can be lethal. Three years ago I had a horse kick me 3 times and I wasn't walking behind her, at first. She was following me, then whirled around and commenced to kicking. With her 1st kick she stepped on my left foot, crushing my great toe; 2nd kick got the back of my right thigh/hip area, got a hoof print bruise from that one; the 3rd kick she only got my pants leg thank God. My husband ended up trading our vehicle for her and another horse.

I've been kicked by a horse a few times.... stepped on twice, bucked off twice, thrown off 3 times and have lived to tell the tale. LOL One lesson learned the hard way - ALWAYS wear my cowboy boots around horses...regardless of weather temps or fashion. LOL

Another lesson learned the hard way - hold on to mane when jumping & going up hill .... LOL

A wise old cowboy told me years ago - never fight a horse. If it's biting, kicking, being bad ... the horse doesn't like you. ( plain & simple ) Cut your losses & get a different one. Leave the training & breaking to the pro's. LOL

We found out that there was a snake in a wood pile close to where this horse kicked me. We figured she sensed or saw it and was trying to get me out of harms way. It was a large Copperhead.

I left my computer in AZ, so it's gonna be a while before i get some pictures downloaded to my Mom's computer...but when I do, watch out ! not that I'll break my promise about too many pet photos, but i've got some decent pictures from PIR over thew years, some from Michigan, and my visit to Talladega a couple of weeks ago.
