Indiana People, Question for you

Wondering if anyone knows anything about LaPorte, IN, specifically Pine Lake. We are looking for a place to rent for vacation this summer and found an option that looks nice there, but we don't know anything about the area.

It's neem SO long since I've been up in that area, but I remember it being a nice area.

Thanks Jamo and Dani! We haven't decided yet for sure, but it is between that place and 1 other that is a little closer to home and a more familiar area, but a smaller cottage. We'll see....

There are a number of lakes clustered in that area. I'm not sure which one is Pine. Generally speaking, they are all pretty nice. Just don't show up in the Winter!!! It's the center of a tremendous lake effect snow belt. I'm about 45 miles east of LaPorte.

I'm near South Bend, not too far from LaPorte, but haven't been that way in awhile. You won't be too far from Lake Michigan and Chicago. It can get pretty warm here in the summer, but not too hot to be miserable. This link might help.
