Great, great Picts. They are good enough to enter in a photo contest! It is not everyone who has Owls nesting in their front yard and have trained them to pose for photos!

Great Christmas card photo too! Hallmark material," when you care enough to send the very best." They love stuff like this, so does National Geographic.

Thx for the link H, I will check it out. Meantime here's a pic I just took 1/2 hr ago. It is the first time we have seen them out of the nest!!

They only print the town, no street addy. So, it would probably say "The Villages, FL" if they used it.
You need a bucket truck so you can get up on their level.

Did the previous owners or real estate agent tell you about nesting owls when you were looking, or was this a surprise?

Hope they come back every year and you give us more pics. I live on 10 undeveloped acres. I've seen and heard an owl or two, but I haven't seen a nest.

Must be Annie, she is worried about her manicure!!

I would have to worry about the little beavers. As for the Mrs and I, I am not so worried. We have owls that live around us and don't bother us. With us weighing in at 40 and 55 lbs each, carrying us away is going to be quite challenging...even for the seasoned adult owl.

One
WHACK ! ! ! ! from the beaver tail sends the owl sailing into a tree. The owl is now unconscious and the Beaver heads for deeper water and then the hut.
After a few hours, the Beaver comes and heads for the tree where the owl was and the owl is still laying there. The Beaver heads back for the hut.
This owl is not going to survive the night in this cold of single digit temps. This owl is going to be one dead duck.

That is my wife's cousin. They were dumb enough to run electricity under water twice and short out the electrical grid twice.
