Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

I read what was on Twitter from Kasey. His remark regarding his shopping and appitite was a bit overboard but the one remark made to him was a bit nasty also. We do have freedom of speech but since he is a public figure he is bound to have someone jump on his remark. This subject is a big debate and I won't get into it as I have bigger things to debate over. I grew up in a modest period of the last century where we didn't breastfeed in public or wear our clothes really short or tops slit down to our navel. It's just a matter of what your used to or what your tolerance level is.

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

you can tell that he is a reserve person and shy when he talks to the media, cant hold it against him, just how he felt at the moment, personally that stuff doesnt phase me, but we have become very hard on people for expressing themselves, and im guilty of it, but i think we need to let it go, 99% of the stuff posted on twitter is a spur of the moment feeling, and no one should be judged by that, just like that comedian bill mahr, made the joke about tebow, i didnt take it serious, but it was kinda funny

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne called the sight of a breastfeeding mother at a supermarket "nasty" and then had some nasty things to say to a Twitter follower who questioned his comment.

Now Kahne has issued an apology for the breastfeeding brouhaha.

"I understand that my comments regarding breastfeeding posted on Twitter were offensive to some people," Kahne said in a statement on his Facebook page. "For that, I apologize. It was in no way my intention to offend any mother who chooses to breastfeed her child, or, for that matter, anyone who supports breast feeding children. I want to make that clear."

The uproar started Tuesday when Kahne took to Twitter after seeing a woman nursing her child.

"Just walking though supermarket," Kahne tweeted. "See a mom breast feeding little kid. Took second look because obviously I was seeing things. I wasn't!"

Kahne then added: "One boob put away one boob hanging!! #nasty."

The inevitable backlash was quick to follow with one woman named Deana P. writing: "I hope someday you have a kid and someone tells your wife that feeding your child looks nasty."

Kahne's diplomatic response? "And your a dumb b*tch."

In his subsequent mea culpa, Kahne apologized directly to Deana P., admitting that he was "out of line."

Hopefully the NASCAR star steered clear of another store yesterday - women across the country protested Target by holding "nurse-ins" at more than 100 stores in 35 states.

==========================================================================
Wow, I hate to have a knee-jerk reaction but I certainly did after reading this online earlier today. I have always thought that Kasey was such a nice kid but to call someone a bi*ch who took offense at his tweet is just rude. So it bothered him seeing a woman nursing her kid in the grocery store. I get it. Even though I nursed both my kids for 12 months, I don't remember ever having to do it in public and certainly would not have done it in a grocery store. I think women should be protected by the law to do this but they also need to realize they may get nasty remarks from people who find it offensive.

I am saddened that Kasey found it a "nasty" thing as I believe it's natural and loving. But if that was all that was said, I would have just sighed and overlooked the tweets counting it as his immaturity (although I think 90% of men feel as he does), but when he called a woman who tweeted him (with her comment which I thought was completely reasonable) a bi*ch--- that ticked me off. She tweeted back to him that he was a classless as*hole but that was in response to being called a biatch. I'm on her side here and completely disappointed in Kasey's name calling of a fan and even his transparent, policital apology. UGH!

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

Have you ever seen what is worn at beach? What is worn in public? What is worn in Walmart? Why is it ok to flaunt the boobies in a provactive way and its considered acceptable, but to use them for the most natural thing in the world and its "nasty". If anyone has ever had a screaming baby who is hungry, they know the child does not want to wait. I personally have never breast fed, but I have respect for all women who do. Its the most natural and by the healthiest way to feed a child. The benefits are far more important for the child's health then anything else in the world. Maybe it was not the best place to feed a child but I would rather see that then some of what I see out there now.

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

KK is entitled to his opinion. I support women who want to breast feed because it is healther for the children HOWEVER there is no reason to have to do it in a public place and if you really feel the need it's called a blanket over the top to cover things up. My sister-in-law has 6 kids and my best friend has 5 kids all of who were breast fed and not one did they feel the need to whip it out in public to feed the kid. Some discretion is in order here.

As for KK calling someone a b*tch, well you know not the classiest thing but since she was going after him cannot blame him.

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

Yeah, but people who follow others on Twitter are usually fans. That's just not a smart thing in my opinion. And he can be ticked at her without calling her a biatch. She didn't start the name calling but she finished it. I think any man who calls a woman a biatch is a bully, especially because he doesn't know her personally, she's a fan following his Tweets and it just makes him look like a jerk. Very poor taste. She's not a journalist or any type of media or critic. She's a fan and doesn't deserve to be called a Biatch by the All-American good looking, soft-spoken driver who seemingly is an otherwise nice guy.

I have 2 sons and if either of them called a woman a b*itch, they'd have to answer to their mother! :D

The lady who offended him definitely should have covered up but we don't know the circumstances. I have never seen a woman just whip out a breast and start feeding her child in full view of others. That's what blankets are for. But to call her bared breast nasty? UGH! Maybe he does bat for the other side because breastfeeding breasts are usually very full and definitely not saggy or otherwise "nasty looking." Sorry, to my guy friends, TMI huh? LOL

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

as i stated before, people that use twitter normally dont think about what they are saying, and may or may not regret it, cant take it serious, twitter is a joke anyways, just another tool for people to voice their opinions and get publicity from it.

Re: Kahne In Hot Water Over Tweet?

I use to work at a baby store for almost 10 years. I have seen WAY to many bare boobs to last me a lifetime. Some women just whip them out and others use some discretion. We sold all kinds of cover-ups and blankets for a little privacy. Trying to sell an item to a bare chested woman standing in front of you is uncomfortable. I think some common sense would be helpful in this area. I know its natural and usually the best for the kids so I agree with breatfeeding.... but I don't want to see another boob.... please!! lol
Here kitty kitty.. come get you some of this!!
