To show you how interested I was in this event, I did have the TV on, but all I had on was movies all day long. I don't know what he said even. We already have all kinds of construction on the highways around here going on. I-75 & Route 35 are still a mess. Sorry to say, but anyone going to the Prelude driving this way to there, I'm letting you know in advance, for the 3rd year in a row you'll have construction to go thru in this area. It's here & there from Cincinnati to Dayton.
Jobs, I know my city is trying to get the closed GM truck & bus plant back in operation with something. Land behind it use to be Harrison Radiator but that building has been torn down & has had health issues on/under grounds from chemicals. People who live across the way in that area has had to have water tested a few times.
What our city is doing is trying to improve the on / off ramp off I-75 to make it easier to get to that land because they want to entise buyers to come in & see how easy it'll be for customers. One of the businesses they want is a casino put over here. I'd have to up & move away if that happened. We're not in the best of neighborhoods to begin with & they're wanting a casino put in.
That casino project was lost to another closed GM Delco plant in Dayton near Huber Heights on Needmore Rd. That too isn't the best of neighborhoods but that little stretch is mostly businesses.
Right now our little city has too much traffic as it is let alone drawing in more traffic from a casino. So far we've not heard of another casino trying to locate so I might have hope.
