NASCAR announcer

My opinion of Rusty Wallace was not high in the first place, but it's even lower now. He had the audacity to question whether Tony Stewart could drive a 900 hp race car? Most certainly Tony is going through a very difficult time in his life right now, but I have no doubts whatsoever that he is able to drive tonight, and drive he will safely.

Re: NASCAR announcer

Thankfully, Rusty's time is almost up. Just turn on MRN and mute the tv, that's what I do when NASCAR on Fox is done for the year. Just wish I could mute Larry Mac then.

Re: NASCAR announcer

As I always used to tell my children...think before you say something especially if it could hurt someone. In his case, he would have to be able to think. That was uncalled for.

Re: NASCAR announcer

I decided to do a little analysis on Rusty Wallace vs Tony Stewart.

Rusty Wallace
1991 IROC Champion
1989 Winston Cup Series Champion
1984 Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year
706 Races in Winston Cup Series
349 Top 10s
36 Poles
55 Wins

Tony Stewart
USAC Champion 1995
Indy Racing League Champion 1997
Winston Cup Rookie of the Year 1999
IROC Champion 2006
Winston Cup / Sprint Cup Series Champion 2002, 2005, 2011
542 Races in Sprint Cup and Winston Cup Series
296 Top 10s
15 Poles
48 Wins

Now that we have some facts to look at or be reminded of, let them speak for themselves. We see why Rusty raced as much as he did and why Tony is still about 150 races behind him and Tony could easily pass him in wins, top 10s and possibly poles. We also see that Tony has won more championships, but maybe Rusty (the moron) Wallace has forgotten his stats on Tony and that he has accomplished more than he ever did and will continue to.

Re: NASCAR announcer

Hey.....Beav.....you forgot to break down the USAC stat. He won the USAC titles in Midgets, Sprint cars, AND Silver Crowns.....just train's to help in making "Crusty" look even worse.

Re: NASCAR announcer

A side from breaking down Tony's 1995 USAC Triple Crown (Silver Crown, Sprint Car, and Midget Car). Tony has 2 racing enterprises with Championships (TSR having multiple dirt championships.) :D

Crusty got into tv for 2 reasons...
1) If Kenny could do it he could do it better (not)
2) to fund RWI

Re: NASCAR announcer

Rusty Wallace is just plain stupid.

There is no other way to describe him.

DW is a little smarter. Which puts him in the category of a motor mouth who is 3 IQ points ahead of Rusty.

Now Larry MacReynolds "has went" way beyond those other two in on screen time and loud mouthed opinions.

But if I could ban one announcer from the airwaves it would have to be DW. That is unless Bill Weber comes back. Then he would be my number one pick to ban.

He probably figures he needs to keep talking about something or he'll lose his cash cow job. No matter how inane it sounds.

Re: NASCAR announcer

What do you call a man with no arms or legs in a pile of leaves? That's Russell

What do you call a man with no arms or legs who just won't turn? That's Rusty.

What do you call a racer who flies thru the air, with the greatest of luck?
That's Russell - Rusty - Wallace.

Rusty was an early favorite driver of mine, back in the 1990's. Liked him back then, still like him today. :-) Like him with a monkey on his head … and still like him when he asks a valid question – that, technically, has already BEEN answered by NASCAR … so I don't see the point in Rusty saying it on TV. {{ I understand a bunch of you guys WILL know why and proceed to tell me... but don't waste your time – just move on. :-) }} Nobody but him knows why he said it. Maybe he wants to play Devil's Advocate to the THRONG of love & support, out for Tony? Maybe he's jealous? Maybe he's mean? Who knows.

Piece of advice given to me in my 20's that Rusty MAY be following - “Don't worry about people talking about you … you worry when they stop.” ;-)
Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

Sh*t happens... but don't worry, it usually happens to me.
