I think there's a bunch of good rock out there, just rock is now a niche genre, no longer popular per se. So now, you have to go look for it...instead of just flippin' on the radio or turnin' on MTV. ;) :)

Re: Juke box is back!

I happen to believe that the Baby Boomer" generation had the privilege of going through the most significant period of music ever. Beginning with Elvis in the mid 50s, it just snowballed into The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Janis, Jimi, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Clapton, Beck, et al. For the younger visitors of this page, I present one of the finest bands to ever take the stage. Their concerts were the hottest ticket in town during the late 70s and throughout the 80s. They'd sell out the largest venue today. Ladies and gentlemen, PINK FLOYD.

Re: Juke box is back!

That pic is great. Seen it on FB a couple times, and it always puts a smile on my face.
So, while we're on the subject. It's no secret about how Dark Side of the Moon supposedly syncs up with the first half of "The Wizard of Oz." (And possibly the 2nd half does with PF's Animals)

If you've never checked it out, grab a cold one, or two, and give it a look.
Some highlights..."Great Gig In The Sky" during the tornado.
When the movie goes from b&w to color....let's just say that the timing is absolutely perfect.
"Brain Damage" during the Scarecrow's dancing. The lyrics make it.

Is it perfect? No. After all, I doubt this was planned, no matter what you read.
Is it cool? Yeah. It's a pretty cool way to listen to this classic album.

Re: Juke box is back!

Mood swings SUCK.

It's even worse when you feel like you've let people down.

My interpretation of this song, at this time, isn't what the song is really about.
But the struggle of maintaining relationships and family is definitely a big part of it.

Maybe that's why I love music. It expresses what we deal with in our lives. Some bad, but there are obviously some great things represented in music too.

Even when you're dealing with something bad, it's usually still a release to find that song that hits home.

Now to go find something positive and uplifting. ;)
