Re: Juke box is back!

A song that Hank Jr and Waylon did many years ago about Hank's dad called "The Conversation"

This is Hank Jr and Waylon's son Shooter singing this same song, and also paying tribute to Waylon and Johnny.

Kinda neat in country music about how many people do duets with other stars.
The "Outlaw" stars did it more than most. Amazing how they are/were so intertwined with one another AFTER they realized Nashville TN didn't want anything to do with them (even Hank Williams Sr)

Re: Juke box is back!

Hank Williams Sr wrote some pretty cool songs for his day

His version is slow, Hank jr sped it up a bit, and put some horns in there with a blues tone to it.

Re: Juke box is back!

I don't know how to add a video. Maybe someday I'll take the time to learn how but I enjoy your eclectic offerings and have never took the time to say THANKS!! I love the videos posted (well most of them! LOL). I love the fact that you guys take the time to post them for our enjoyment. Some bring back memories (OMGosh-- Don Johnson??? LOL... this video reminds me of one I actually played over and over-- Smuggler's Blues by Glen Frey. Love me some Eagles, even if they're separated like Don Walsh and Glen Frey. I think Smugglers Blues was actually from Don Johnson's TV show in the 80s but I could be wrong. Anyway... it's those memories, cheezy as they are that make my day... You guys are AWESOME for posting them.

If I could post, I'd post Simple Man by Lynard Skynyrd. One day I will. Until then, I just wanted to Say THANKS to everyone who contributes videos and esp. the MJ the man! LOL.. Thanks for starting these threads.

Hank Jr. is my 14-year-old's current fave so I'll show him these videos.

Re: Juke box is back!

here ya go merk, I threw in a couple of my faves

as far as Hank Jr goes, I wish I could say I have every song he ever wrote and/or played, but that would take a lot.
His daddy died when he was 3, his momma made him play his daddy's songs to put food on the table when he was just a toddler.
He started writing songs at a very young age, and he couldn't wait til his momma set him free to do so.
He is one of my faves too, if you couldn't tell LOL

Re: Juke box is back!

These are awesome Jamo Thanks!!

I saw Hank Williams Jr. in concert must have been at least 25 years ago. The last of a dying breed. But then when my husband and I first dated we listened to a lot of what they now call classic rock as well as Southern Rock and lot of Waylon and Willie and Haggard and Bocephus.
