top concerts you attended

no reason to restrict this to a number, seems people have a difficult time making choices....

1. Doobie Brothers and Joe Walsh - summer of 91
2.KISS - summer of 96 at MSG
3. Reverend Horton Heat - fall of 96
4.THE WHO - summer of 89 (kept getting my #### grabbed that nite by a bunch of women, felt good for the male ego.)
5. ACE FREHLEY - fall of 95 (seen him in a small club, when i left, my ears wear ringing, i couldnt hear people talk or cars driving by me, lasted 10 minutes, of course it didnt help i was standing next to the pa system.)

1) Bluegrass festivals in my childhood days

2) local bands at some of the dive bars I used to attend, nothin beats listening to undiscovered sounds & styles

3) Chris LeDoux at a bar called "Incahoots" near St Louis sometime in the late 90s

4) David Allen Coe outdoor concert somewhere in Southern Illinois in 1994 (don't remember much of that concert) 8-)

Only been to two, the Ultimate Oldies concerts at the Georgia Dome in 1997 and '98. Some of the acts were really good, some of them showed they needed to retire.

Well let's see....

There was Loverboy and Quarterflash on acid.... ( early 80's)

Seeing Greg Kihn and Head East play in my favorite bar. ( Separate times )

But the BEST concert I ever went to was at a waterslide park. It was Steppenwolf and the Guess Who. Snuck into that one, so it was free. :-)

Don't laugh, but my wife loves Cher and thou i wasn't so big on it,we went to see her a few years ago in Albany and i was amazed. The woman can capture an audiance, she looked pretty good for her age and i actually liked a few of her songs. Merle Haggard came to Troy in 1987 with the Judds and i was pretty poed Merle couldn't finish his concert, but the Judds were pretty good for a duet i was never big on.Rush,ZZ Top and AC/DC were awesome back in the day,i don't go to concerts much anymore.

Re: top concerts you attended

Jerry Reed (Golden Eagle Casino, I think it was 1999. Got his autograph that night. He was great.)

Garth Brooks (1992 at KSU and then at Kemper a few years ago.)

Chris LeDoux (DG County Fair Grounds 1990-something and after a bull riding event at Kemper some years later. Never thought that would be that last time I saw him.)

George Strait (1x in Topeka and 2x at Kemper)

Reba (once at Sandstone)

Can't really remember the years accept 1992, cause that was my very 1st concert. My last concert was the Gatlin Brothers in Topeka last year.

Re: top concerts you attended

We had season tickets to the Houston rodeo for about 10 yrs so I had seen some pretty good shows there---they have a wide mix of artists come. So I've seen Garth, ZZ Topp, Reba, and George. But....the very best concerts I have been to were ones where the artist put ON DA SHOW.

Bob Seger....1978
Springsteen...1979
Rolling Stones...early 80's

and.......one of the best "shows" by any artist was a couple of years ago....Neil Diamond....he is by far one of the best entertainers.
