Extreme Frustration

Kevin has had cars that were more than capable of winning at both vegas and bristol...and nothing to show for it... I dont know about yall but I have been extremely disappointed these last 2 races because kevin has had great race cars.... Rodney is building rocketships... should have 3 wins this season....Cant do much about bad luck i guess...good thing Smoke had a great finish because I could start to sense the frustration at SHR with the poor TEAM efforts so far

Re: Extreme Frustration

I'm not worried about it. Am I disappointed when Kevin wreaks his car? Yes. But it is what it is. Vegas to me seemed like a fluke failure to me and Bristol ( to my understanding) was a blown tire and it was the rubber from the tire that caught fire and that was the result. The #4 team has shown to be strong each week so far this season.

Re: Extreme Frustration

I posted this earlier in another Kevin topic;

Read a Tweet from Rodney Childers he posted less than an hour ago -

"looks like we ran over something and cut a oil line. Must have been when the 78 wrecked in front of us while we were the leader?"

Unfortunate, but that's racin'

At least it wasn't an outright mechanical failure.

Re: Extreme Frustration

The finishes are disappointing, but the cars are fast. The team is making the car better through each practice and the race. Once we get the bad luck chased away, this team will kick a$$. The over the wall gang looks good. We lost spots and gained spots on pit road. I don't know what adjustments were made each stop but it looks like they just need some consistency. I like that Rodney knows what he wants to do on each stop. This team will only get better with time. I am very optimistic about this season. #4thewin

Bad luck or not, so far I have no regrets about him leaving RCR and coming to SHR! :D

Re: Extreme Frustration

Kevins got his win for solice, even with the recent bad luck mech issues, so thats something for him anyway? Fontana hopefully is better? :)

Re: Extreme Frustration

if you look back to when Kevin drove for RCR he was called the closer. Just these last 4 races he was able to fight for the lead early even though he did not lead at Daytona he still ran up front. I think even with the bad luck hes had moving to SHR is the best move Kevin has made. The cars are fast and the chemistry between driver and crewchief work. Just no more rain delays .

Re: Extreme Frustration

I agree with 4-Bud, it seemed like Vegas was just a fluke thing and Bristol was a blown tire that caught fire.

We have seen all sorts of drivers get into similar circumstances over the years in back to back races. I mean think about it, it is not like Kevin has started off with four bad races because remember he won at Phoenix and came in 12th at Daytona. Remember we are only four races into the season here people, we have a long way to go.

Re: Extreme Frustration

I can see there being some frustration with the finishes in the last couple of races. But it's also a good sign that Kevin has been running up front when most of that bad luck happens. It's gotta turn around eventually, and if he's still running up front when it does it's going to be a great season. I'm happy seeing him up front, and will be even more happy when his equipment gets him to the end.

Re: Extreme Frustration

The performance is definitely there. We just have to get past the bad luck. Last year Harv led 269 laps all year (Yahoo Sports). In 4 races, he has led 281 (NASCAR Geeks). I think that he has a great season ahead. He has been fast at all of the tracks visited.

Re: Extreme Frustration

But for a little bit of luck he'd be a three-time winner this season. Thrilled with the performance of that 4 car thus far.

Re: Extreme Frustration

I think Kevins departure from RACE is comparable to Kevin becoming pro-active at SHR versus the re-active atmosphere tht surrounded him at RCR.
I honestly believe we haven't seen the best of Kevin and I think Childers is going to help show us the best.
There is some magic, mojo, etc. surrounding the #4 team and I hope its here for a good while.
It just tickles me to watch Kevin run up front! Heck it tickles me WATCHING Kevin GET to the front!

MJ, I was never a Harvick fan..... But I gotta say...
This team change has been good for him.
Watch his attitude... way different.
