Kevin's leaving RCR

Has anyone noticed that the RCR website is in the process of removing all items relating to Kevin?

I signed into it this morning and the background (which used to show Kevin in the Winner's Circle) now has the grandson shown. Kevin's name has been removed from the drivers list, etc.

Now I know it should be done since he has left - but so quickly???

Re: Kevin's leaving RCR

If testing at Charlotte had not been rained out today, Kevin would have been driving an SHR car, so no, I don't think it's too soon.

I'm surprised to still see Ryan stuff on this website.

Re: Kevin's leaving RCR

It usually changes sometime between the day after Miami and right after New Year's. Depends on the driver and team. When Kyle was coming to JGR in 2008, if I remember right they were pretty fast in getting a Kyle section of the store set up, no merchandise in it at the time, but all of J.J. Yeley's merchandise (along with most of the merchandise with a clear Chevy theme like diecast) had been moved to the clearance very quickly after the end of the season.

Well if you look at it, Austin Dillon is the future of RCR now that Kevin is no longer there. I was surprised however that on the site there is no mention of Ryan Newman yet.

Re: Kevin's leaving RCR

It's amusing, the driver/team section only shows Paul Menard's 27 car for the Cup teams and the Nationwide and Truck teams are inaccurate. Guess they were in a rush to get Kevin (and Jeff) off the site but not to get the rest of it fixed, so it looks silly.

They're making an announcement Wednesday (either Dillon to Cup with the 3 or Childress to start his own line of food products, cookie to anyone who can guess that reference) so maybe they're waiting til then to really overhaul the site. Don't want to spoil their "surprise."

Re: Kevin's leaving RCR

Never cared much for the RCR site, always went on KHI.
Menard is there because of the money, Course we all know why Dillion is there and Ryan is the new babysitter!!

Hopefully there is love and respect for the babysitter! When I was young we tried to get over on the babysitter.

 Wish nothing but the best for Ryan, but we all know why he's going there and unfortunately i'd of rather seen Ryan go to JGR or MWR rather than RCR.

Well, during testing Ryan did show some speed! This looks good to me.

Unfortunately Ryan won't be the "draw" there, it will be the 3. I wish Ryan would have gone somewhere where he would be the draw... Will always root for him though, best of luck to Ryan!

Re: Kevin's leaving RCR

Quite frankly I think Ryan will likely be the fastest all year. I realize the weight on Austin's shoulders, but even though he will have Gil Martin and most (if not all) of Kevin's old team I don't look for a really hot year right out of the gate -- although Daytona might be his best track.

I also wish the best for Ryan and was glad to see that Quicken followed him to RCR.
